Since the beginning of the game, skeletons have been exceptionally deadly with a gun, with the addition of the eye of reach to their arsenal, this became even worse. And ever since the beginning of the game, I have found this a little too powerful, but especially since I got to pirate legend. While doing an athena, The skeletons are far more formidable and I understand that. But when I solo an athena and go up against all 4 captains running eye of reaches, they eviscerate me before I can come within 20 feet of them. They don't miss so I end up being hit by all 4 simultaneously. What I'm proposing is that per each skeleton crew, including ads, there should only be a maximum of 20% of them using guns. 4+ guns (especially EoR) in one crew is apocalyptic. And you shouldn't be forced to use a keg just to defeat some skeletons. Granted in my case, I tried and they killed me before I even got them into the blast radius.
Skeleton crews should be limited when it comes to guns
@m1st4-d0nt-pl4y I agree. I once had an athena chest on plunder valley which I spent about 15 minutes looking for. I should specify, I was on that island for almost an hour but I only had 15 minutes in that time to look for the chest where I wasn't being chased by keg skeletons. By the time I got off the island, I had killed or been killed by 23 keg skeletons. I know athenas increase how often they spawn but that's just absurd.
I used to struggle with fighting skeleton groups until:
- I learned they can't shoot through each other
- I stopped treating my life as important
So let me explain that.
First, don't kill the melee guys right away. Block them in line with the ranged ones until they fire at you, and then charge them, turning so you are hitting them and the melee.
Secondly, when gunpowder guy spawns, bring him right at the ranged guys, suiciding and clearing out as many as possible.
When trying to "stay alive" and get cover, and eat bananas, you step out and have so many weapons pointed at you. The time it takes to try to survive and kill them far exceeds the time it takes to blow up half of them and respawn from the ferry.Try to do that in the upcoming fights and see if you have an easier time at it.
I think skeletons are fine, except the frequency of Gunpowder skellies.
You gotta out maneuver the skeletons in this game. Skeletons will stand still for a second to take aim, if you manage to get out of their range in that time, they will move and try again without shooting. Stay mobile, jump around rocks and ledges, go through doors, etc. Catch a few skeletons with your sword/gun, then when the rest of the group catches up, get moving again.
You can also use skeletons as shields. If you got a group of skeletons with swords in front of you and a sniper in the back is taking aim, keep that skelly between you and he'll take the hit for you.
As for using kegs, unless you got gold skeletons in a pond, if you're gonna use a keg to kill a large group of skeletons, you're gonna have to suicide it. Its much more effective to get them all around you and take them down with you, then to try and drop the barrel and run. If you can get away from the barrel before it explodes, so can they.
@wraith-04 honestly it’s not Athena’s I had plenty pop up on gold hoarders it’s just the levels of who you’re playing with think about it in level 1-10 you may swipe 3 times they’re dead yeah Athena’s do spawn hard but it’s just the level of factions you’re playing in like level 1 oos or hoarders
@m1st4-d0nt-pl4y said in Skeleton crews should be limited when it comes to guns:
@reapinglegion best thing is to do is hug a corner they’ll come to you
Ohhh i did nooooot know that, haha....dude im what a guy called A ELITISM player so no worries josé!
