Emote Bundles

  • Today’s the first-time I’m purchasing emotes, and on the Pirate Emporium menu’s sale page there’s a Coin Toss emote, I liked it so I bought it.

However, afterwards learned it was part of the Variety Emotes Bundle I — will a player’s price for the bundle reflect that they already purchased content from that bundle and reduce it’s price-point or will players be fleeced and have to pay for the same emote twice because it’s part of a bundle?

As a graphic designer whom works for large corporations, we always try to make customer communications clear and easy for them to understand. As such if Rare lists emotes separately from a bundle they should warn players that the item is part of a bundle.

  • Everything is presented clearly.
Failure to read “everything” written is a poor excuse. You don’t simply agree to the notice without reading do you?

You bought a tire, but you could of bought the car for same price if not less.

No need to state your “job title” it doesn’t help.

  • No, it isn’t presented clearly, you’re wrong. If it was presented clearly as you claim, we wouldn’t be having this conversation, nor would I have had to create this topic of discussion.

There should be sub-copy for items that are part of Emote Bundles stating clearly to players ‘This item is also part of an emote bundle.’ Specifically, for items that are displayed as a singular purchase outside of the bundle.

I was presented with the Coin Toss emote by itself as a featured sale item; however, the same emote is part of the Variety Emotes Bundle I. As a new player to the Pirate Emporium, I did not know emotes could be sold as individual items and/or as part of a bundle.

Players should not have to dig through every emote bundle just to see if a singular emote can also be purchased as part of a bundle, thus offering a better value.

My job title deals with literally these types of things, how to design and communicate with customers so that companies offer transparent messaging and easy to navigate user experience design.

  • Stop crying over $3 Mr. Large Corporation Graphic Designer. This is the first time i've ever seen someone complain about this "issue". Consider that it may be your own fault.
