Purchasable Supplies at outpost

  • Purchasable Supplies at an outpost.
Basically what this is once you achieve gold hoarders level 20. The Tavern or whoever will allow you to purchase 50 of each supply (Cannonballs, Bananas, and planks). You would not be able to purchase any type of cursed balls.
This would also allow anther money dump. Instead of just being able to buy cosmetics you could buy items with gold.

  • The idea is that every ship starts equal and it's your effort and dedication to supply runs, winning engagements, etc. that determines if you have enough resources or not.

This is a type of power imbalance that is specifically engineered out of this game. This ability is available only to players with stacks of cash, which is nearly everyone, but still. This creates an imbalance from the beginning of the session, right away, someone without any cost to themselves in effort or time now has an advantage over everyone on the server, if they spent enough cash.

    Hard no.

  • I think the balance of the game depends partially on the effort you put in to stock up along your journey, and the time and risk that involves. Being able to buy the resources would work against that I think.

  • @himwhoeatstime It would be more balanced than RNG. If I spawn in at Golden shores I get little to no supplies. I spawn in at Galleons grave Im leaving with over a 100 of each. How is this balanced? If everyone is able to leave with a 50 at rank 20 then it is balanced. Rank 20 is achieved in your first 4 hours of playing. Literally, 1/4 players are over rank 20 on a galleon. 1/3 are rank 20 on a brig. On a sloop, you are flipping a coin, but on a sloop, you can outrun any ship by going into the wind. This makes gameplay more fun, engaging, and balanced

You still can and if you want more you have to. Plus you still need to get cursed balls, so this still requires you to go hunting for supplies.

  • This will unbalance the game.

  • @yoitsdeadpool It's not that they're equal when they leave the outpost, they're equal when they spawn in. Without spending 15 minutes at the outpost getting 100 of everything, they're at a skull fort first. They're scouting the server for victims with 0 time spent. You may get less resources at Golden Sands than other outposts, but you don't spend the time either, you still spend that time eventually, but you do it while voyaging, etc.

The balance issue is in joining a session and getting to disrupt someone without doing any gathering your damn self, before or after leaving the outpost.
