Also had this thought of it being pretty awesome if there was a zone that had a few ice islands, and some floating ice platforms that you have to navigate with your ship to avoid damage.
Possible some hard to reach places with the mechanic of sliding off if not timed right could be a really fun player experience, hostile bears (banjos) and boars.
Ice floes and a few (additional) Icebergs here and there between Islands and huge Rocks/Rock-Formations looking out the Water would be a nice add to the Game.

Like - "between December and March", or the like?
This would open cool, new Possibilities. " Ice floes " could slow down a Ship trying to sail through them.
Not enough Mass and Pressure to actually "damage" the Ship, but making them slower.
It would be annoying for Ships fleeing from other Ships,
and "if" there would be small Ways to sail between through them, it could be an Advantage for smaller Ships fleeing from a Galleon ;-)
