Crystal ball for spectating on Ship of the Damned

  • Yep
How many times have you been on the ship of the damned biting your fingernails desperately asking the guys in your party: 'what is happening?!', 'Did you kill them?!', 'Is our ship sinking?!', 'Where are they?', 'Did they steal anything?!'
Well the ship of the damned is way too cool not to have... But imagine fellow pirates, if you could walk up to a crystal ball on the ship of the damned and have a peek at whats goin down... your ship or theirs...

maybe the game would choose a random crewmate you can view from.

  • @madtba999enz
If the devs would add the amazingly awesome crystal ball on the ship of the damned for spectating it should be a very limited and somewhat hazy view; you should still see the crystal ball while spectating through it ...with a similar effect that we see on the villainous skulls...

  • @xgodkevin I'd be fine with this ^^

Plus, a spec mode would be great. When I am avoiding the brig by staying on the SotD that would definitely help me keep track of all the loot gathering. \o/

  • @xgodkevin
yes you should be able to scroll through the different players on your ship

  • @madtba999enz The hazy stuff sound definitely cool! Why not update your OP and add the details. That would help to sell your idea.

  • id want a birds eye view of your own ship, something just above crows nest height to the side so masts arent that much in the way

  • @ironuzuka
Sorry what do you mean by 'update your OP'? Origional post? if so how exactly?

  • @madtba999enz i really like that idea dude that would be awesome, I could imagine getting so involved watching I would forget to respawn aha

  • The potential fix for people that rubber band and go afk would be to kick from the game if you spend say 5-10 min on the ferry. this crystal ball is an interesting idea but seeing how people are only on the ferry for a super brief amount of time i dont see it being that useful.

Im still waiting for private crews...

    :(

  • @t377y
    Yeah no doubt l**o
Im just tired of biting my fingernails (lol) wondering w*f is happening while Im gone

  • @madtba999enz im with you on that bro, would be a cool feature

  • @dazed898
Its not so much to be useful
    It would be insanely cool
and entertaining - whats is all about - being entertained
If it was so cool that you wanted to spectate so much that you forget to spawn back in then it would be a great addition
besides - the idea that a vast number of players are on the edge of their seats asking their party members whats happening while they are in the sip of the damned.... isnt an idea its a fact
theres a reason a spectating mode is available to just about every game on Earth these days and is prob for similar reasons
The devs prob just didnt want to add spectating so that you would go through the afterlife on the ship of the damned but having the crystal ball would give them the best of both worlds
just in spectating they would need to make it so that you see the crystal ball in the persective so that it would feel like you were still on the ship of the damned

  • @ironuzuka
On top of being able to scroll through the various players in 3rd person you should be able to choose a ship to spectate...
the camera angle would be just above the ship and you should be able to circle the ship with the camera, all while its pointing to the center of the ship
if you were to imagine a cone with the point facing down, the camera would be attached to the top circle. and the ship would be at the point

  • Not a great idea. If you're dead, you don't deserve to see what's going on.
Also, I'm sure the added load that spectators would add would surely cripple our poor, fragile servers.

  • @arcticharmony70
    Hey thanks for replying
You can spectate in most games and most gamers like the ability
I get that youre dead and dont deserve the ability and all - but its entertaining and most gamers prefer it....
hopefully if the devs can take the game further and it gains popularity enough the server issues will go away
And sorry but again I would have to say that I think a crystal ball on the ship of the damned for spectating would be just too cool and I cant imagine that the community wouldnt LOVE IT

This! For solo players this would be a huge help to know what they are coming back to.

  • I am sure that some sort of spectator mode can be introduced. Don't know exactly what field it fits in, well enough, when tactics are involved though.

  • @ironuzuka I'd want two options a birds eye view above ship and the option to cycle between 3rd or 1st person for each alive crew member.
