Special toys/treasures

What if you could find treasures lying in hidden areas on islands that offer temporary advantages or cosmetic changes? like a skull that once interacted with changes your entire crew to skeletons or a relic that allows you to load 3 cannonballs into a cannon and them shoot them all out at once? It's just an idea but I think it would add some cool variation to the game.
