At least three of my crew have got stuck on the load screen (black screen, spinning ships wheel) when using a mermaid to get back to the ship.
We did wait for several minutes to see if it would resolve itself.
I know of one other person, not connected to our crew, who has experienced this.
The only way out of this appears to be to reload the game and take the invite back into the crew.
happened to me and my friend as well with a 4 man galleon....waited 7 minutes with that loading screen until I was thrown out after that and couldn't join the session again, even after restarting the game :/
this never happened to me, just started now and made me stop playing for today, because dying practially means for me new game....:/
Ok, so the fort popped while i was playing tonight, was there by myself and on one of the deaths and coming back from the ship of the damned this happened to me as well - right now actually.
For the last 5 minutes I have been sitting here listening to the sound of the boat with a spinning ball. Just now i actually listened to another boat approaching as i could here the cannons from the skellies, then my boat being hit, then i listened to at least one person boarding the boat and now i have listened to the boat sink.
As we speak i am now perpetually making the drowning noise - but not dying. Am at 9 minutes on this screen. I can still hear the other boat firing above water. Am actually curious to know if they can see me as if so, i must be appearing immortal.
Did you break something in the patch tonight? Never had this before.
EDIT: Fixed iPad auto correct and spelling. Also, ultimately Alt F4 as was the only way to exit this. Think I will go to bed for now and look again tomorrow.
Had this happen numerous times to ship mates yesterday. Today I'm doing some solo play and jumped off to grab supplies and hop a mermaid back. I've been sitting here for about 10 minutes in the load screen and will lose all of my loot because of I can't log out and back in to my same ship.
I've already complained about losing connection while solo slooping being a huge under sight by the developers, but combined with this bug it is absolutely game breaking for solo play and a HUGE waste of my time.
This should be priority number 1. I've heard of it happening to Galleon crews with up to 3 members grabbing mermaids and all getting stuck. If they didn't have a 4th, they are in the same boat.

Same. I was doing some dirty pirate stuff to another sloop crew. They boarded my ship.. I jumped off to get on theirs but missed. I swam away from my ship to get mermaid.. Only black screen never loaded me back on ship.. At first I thought this only happens when ship is lost.. Waited long time never came back to old ship or respawned ship. I had to restart game client.
