A solution to the ship sinking penalty

  • Its simple, ships should respawn with 0 resources on them. Part of the penalty for losing a ship should be having to get and resupply this ship. This takes time to do and would help with people complaining about who have been sunk zerging their way back into the fight for revenge.

  • Because PvE players need even more reasons to stop playing the game... Get your progress stolen, your ship sunk, and now you have to spend time (that will be a waste just like the time spent trying to complete voyages) gathering planks so you don't sink in the middle of a storm.

  • @sgtbluntz Then they just use their ship as a ramming tool. No, the only way to fix it is to spawn them as far away from where they died as possible. They had their battle, they lost it. They should not get an easy next shot at it, it's just annoying for the victor. It's so easy to just outlast an enemy that is doing a fort because you will just wear them out. Be it cannonballs or planks. And that should not be the deciding factor of a battle, it should be about skill. Sink an enemy once, good job, he won't bother you again.

Heh heh heh heh heh....you said "ramming tool".

  • Yeah letting them spawn as far away as possible should be the easy fix. Only the most persistent of crews would consider sailing back.

  • @dark-neuron I somewhat agree theat the ships should spawn farther away, but still their should be a stronger penalty for losing a ship. While this wouldn't fix every revenge zergling coming back it would cut down on a lot of them. It takes time getting supplies, giving the victor ship more time to finish what they were doing...

  • I agree, last night we were attacking a ship at a raid and they kept getting us while we only got them a couple of times. We would spawn nearby with some supplies and start going after them. We did this for 3 1/2 hrs and they still got the loot. Honestly, they were just much better at combat and definitely seemed like they played this game during beta before cause they did the right things. If we were spawned somewhere much further at least 2 islands further instead of just one we would attack them less and both crews wouldn't waste 3 1/2 hours. They were just so obnoxious and vile and spouted the worst comments that our whole crew wanted to take them down.

  • @x1-two it can be a ramming tool either with supplies or not if your ship is spawned only one island away from a raid. without supplies would be less enticing to attack but i think the best fix is to spawn further away. it makes no sense if you take down a crew at a raid and they appear back in 3 minutes

  • @brutalpandax If you really wanted to get them back you would have resupplied and went back to kill them. Most battles between experienced crews its game of attrition. You can usually repair a boat faster than somone can canon it down.

  • I just talked about a harder Penalty 20 min ago with my friend. We just want to try a raid with 2 People and got trolled by 1 Person. My friend and me are running on the Island, killed already tons of Skeletons. Then we saw a ship which starts Shooting ours so we run back and sunk him. After 4 times we just gave up because he spawned all time next to the raid and we couldn´t do anything. At the end we run out of supplies, because he just wouldn´t stop and zerg us all day Long. We got very mad about this Bul***** (sry) but it wasn´t fair he just came for us over and over again. I understand it´s a PvP game but everybody knows how dumb it is if you kill a Person and he just spawns right next to you. Is this the taste of a sweet victory? I think there are much People out there who are better then me in PvP and they deserve it getting my loot in a fight if they win (yes sure it´s still dumb in a 4vs1 but pirats are pirats ;D). So i agree with the Penalty to spawn far away if you get sunk. Disagree with the Penalty which spawn you without supplies because if they are on the otherside of the map they still need a long time to get back.

  • @sgtbluntz I like, but we mostly ram and board anyways, it's more effective.

  • @mattydove74 only because u guys are raming newbs, we know if we are getting ramed to head to the bottom deck.

Well duh, where else would you go?

  • The problem with pushing a person far away is if you are the one who started the raid and get attacked close to the end of it and you are low on supplies then it’s not fair to be spawned so far away. It’s actually well balanced now but you have to be ready to do a raid. You can’t just start a game, see a skull fort and head straight over. Anybody that’s been already doing quests and stocking up will have an advantage so if you’re getting a skull fort with little supplies or not overstocked, then worrying about the enemy spawning is not the game’s problem. I think we just have to be ready if we’re doing forts. Taking away supplies if you are sunk is the best idea to combat frustrations but it’s unnecessary.
