Why do voyages/quests get harder?

  • Why as you level up with faction npcs do the voyages get more difficult or involved?

    Its not like our character is becoming more powerful. We gain not skill points, no added stats, no stronger weapons. So why should we have to face off against 4 skeleton captains that are preceded by waves of terminator skeles, rambo skeles, shade skeles...all to finish one bounty for order of souls that nets squat for rep and gold? We didnt get more powerful...not like ‘experience’ helps much agianst increasingly more difficult skeleton mobs, snipers with a pistol, faster than flash, shottie kill from 40yds...

    And of course ‘harder’ is all relevent, as hard as minecraft is a good comparison, but still, why are they harder? Our character gains no power.

  • Right? Why is becoming a legend so hard? Why can't I just be a legend? Why do we even have reputation? I don't know man, you tell them. It's not like we make more gold for doing harder voyages or something.

  • The voyages getting harder is an element of progression to the game. To make it feel like you are progressing to harder and harder missions.The rewards also generally get better as well. You deal with the increased difficulty by your increased level of experience and skill and ingenuity. . Experience certainly helps I am not sure why you would imply it wouldn't.
