  • All the people panicking about issues, Yet they won't check the social media, Even though Rare are big on keeping us in the loop...

    Because FUTUUUUURE

  • Yeah (not trying to be sarcastic) why would a game company that charges $60 for a game not care about the issues? Seriously the people that don’t think they care. Their a***s will be handed to them if they don’t fix these issues.

  • @conniepoo12 The Devs care deeply about this game, They want it to be perfect as much as we do ;)

  • I would at least like a timeline as to when they might approximately be done with fixing things.

  • Havent they had like a thousand tests already. They are so on it everybody else is over it. Sorry they knew what a trainwreak they were releasing, and they still did. Personally Ithink its pretty unforgivable.

  • Aaaarrrr-right!! We bes making progress! De treasure bes coming soon lads! ::s**s in a corner::

  • Wipes Tear

  • @Its-s Why release? and fyi 70 euro per person in my household is 210 euro. That's a huge chunk of salary for a hobby. Betas should have been a hell of a lot longer than they were in order to fix these issues even if they kept them closed, paying that much for a game that still feels like it's in beta is like Rare are the pirates. Not only that they allowed free players 14 days to clog up the servers in the first place while poor saps who forked out full whack to just sit there and pray for an hour of two ingame. I don't get how multibillion dollar game companies can still [mod edited] up like this and get away with it if it were any other industry they would be in court in seconds. All the fanboying in the world wont polish over the stain of failure.

Have you seen the Facebook page, not exactly friendly seas atm

  • Extremely disappointed. There are no positive thoughts I have about the game right now. I played in te alpha, beta, and almost all their scale tests. I've been waiting for this game since they announced it and I preordered it, supported it, spread positive info about the game all over and for Rare not be keeping us in the loop and to let all the game pass holders play before the people who preordered the game and have followed it since day 1 all I can say is I'm on the verge of deleting the game. I'm angry that the only info they give us is "just hold on guys we're trying". All I see them doing is trying to comfort people because they don't know what's goin on. instead of keeping us in the loop like a game company should be doing on LAUNCH DAY, they've just been making everyone miserable. I understand that s**t like this happens I do but then again it's 2018 and there have been hundreds of online based games that prevailed out of the problem by telling their players what's goin on and giving them an estimated time frame in which they can play. Also they would release minor adjustment update so players can continue to play while they work on the bigger update to resolve pretty much all the problems. My closing statement is that I have hope but it's quickly fading as these minutes turn into hours and soon maybe days.

  • @weepaperboats I just want my gold matey

  • "Checking for fake gold" hah!
Must've all come up as fake!

Couldn't be helped obviously, or it wouldn't have happened. Bummed out only because I took this time off work to have a game day.

  • People should be happy the devs haven't abandoned them like the jokers at Hello Games devs did with NMS. I have faith that Rare will make things run ship shape in the end. Just have some patience folks.

Somehow I dont think Microsoft would sit back and watch Rare abandom their game. That being said MS has a long memory, not to mention their huge monetary and strategic investment. One day when the dust settles on this, I can see them come calling and tapping a few people on the shoulder at Rare.

    Yes, only that you lie.

Hello Games never abandoned NMS, they improved it to astonishing levels, despite the childish hate campaign of the community. If Rare is so profressional like them SoT will be a sucess.

Guys, please... give them time to light the lanterns. They're on it, alright?

Are any of those clothing items in that picture actually in the game?

  • @weepaperboats Isn't that what Alpha, Beta and closed Beta testing is for? To ensure that these issues wouldn't be so prevalent at launch... They should have taken the money for those golden bananas used it to ensure this type of disastrous launch wouldn't happen!

  • @mislooter you have to take into account that they said that there were so many people trying to login. The beta had a lot of people but not as much as the launch. especially how they are hosting not only the people on xbox but the people on pc too, and who knows maybe its not them. Maybe a hacker decided to mess with them On launch. hackers tend to mess stuff up around a big event for a game or multiple. like around every Christmas time when people get the newest games

  • @weepaperboats
I'm not really worried about the bugs, but right now I'm not making much progress. And it is frustrating to say the least, because you play for an hour or two, feel like you have done well and yet you have nothing to show for it.

I have got nearly 5,000 gold from turning in stuff completing voyages and I have gained zero reputation. The last 3 or 4 items I turned in, I got no gold for either.

I also don't seem to be able to log in on my own, or as a captain. I can only join as a crew.

  • Time machine £60. Time travel n that.

    I'll take one.

    It doesn't work.

    We'll fix it later.

Oh... ok. Couldn't you like, fix it before selling it?

No. That's... that would... it will be fixed soon.

That's pretty much how I'm seeing the launch of this game right now. There are obviously going to be issues with player load in the first few days and I forgive them that. It's the fact that this is issue is right across the board. Everywhere i'm seeing later, later, be patient, wait for it.

Dude, you can never gauge how many servers and bandwidth you will need when your game comes out to cater for god knows how many people buy the game, or have game pass etc. Its impossible nearly to predict. Rare had real stress test data, preorders, game pass subs, loads of data, retail information etc, to guess a number and then that number is catered to (server wise) plus some contingency etc, and even more contingency.

End of the day, the sheer number of users and gamers playing exceeded even their wildest expectations and capacity is what I believe. That's only a truly good and positive thing for Rare and the SOT game etc. Give them time to bring more servers online and we'll all be fine. This unfortunately is a problem no one can always have the exact foresight to combat if this makes sense.

Also to top it off, even their forums and website crashed yesterday, too much traffic, getting pinged like a m**o. Its all POSITIVE signs IMO.

Peace and cya on the seas!

  • @lobofh At launch it was terrible and if you tried getting any answers from devs all you got was a cricket noise. So I don't lie. It took quite a while for Hello to do anything about their massive muck up. Plus they lied flat out about what their game would be going as far as showing gameplay that wasn't even part of the game.

  • This has happened with many games in the past, They knew numbers would be high but underestimated how high they would reach.

  • @mcdoll yes

  • @nic727 can you please screenshot them for me?
I can only find four outfits.

After all the asinine hate campaign against the game?, I had took the millions and retire at Fiji Islands, but they have been working like slaves since then, no seasons pass, no DLC's, no microtransactions, just free patches to add tons of new features and a total rehaul of the graphics.

You guys should stop with the demagogic hate campaign against NMS, it got old long time ago. I enjoyed the game on release and even more now...but yes, I knew what I was buying, I didn't build fantasy castles in the sky about some kind of Star Citizen with lots of fancy colours, NMS was never that.

  • @mcdoll you need to buy them. The black outfit is the admiral outfit in the shop.

  • @its-s****. Not trying to be a smart RRRRS but which is the best media source to find updates?

I've just read of a 500MB update and went to this page https://www.seaofthieves.com/release-notes where it states:
    "Download size:
Around 1.20 GB for all platforms."
    "patch 1.03"
    "Wednesday 11th April 9am – 2pm BST "

I also tried the PC instructions that page links to, here https://support.seaofthieves.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360000707348-Sea-of-Thieves-PC-Install-Instructions which is dated "Last Updated: April 12, 2018"

Now as far as I recall the total uninstall and reinstall so called "patch" a week after launch was version 1.02 at 120Gb I think that was on 4/4/2018

Is this the same deal or is it actually another update/replacement installation?
It's all as clear as mud.

I'm only reading about updates from other players on the forums here as I had done with the first update.

Please forum moderators, dedicate a sticky thread closed to public replies solely for updates.
