Error - 0x80073cf9

  • I've had this problem for around 2 months maybe, I have tried all the fixes, got all the maps in windows folder and admin rights to everything. Tried wsreset and re-installing windows. I have heard somewhere that a wired network connection might help to solve the problem, but I managed to install the Closed Beta on my laptop on the same Microsoft Account. Both on WiFi.

    I'm tired of not being able to try out this fantastic game, I don't want to continue to watch videos on youtube of gameplay, I want to experience the game myself with my two colleagues which also are beta and pioneer testers.

  • @katttruewalker I have raised a ticket on both parts. The ticket raised here on support was just minutes ago. The microsoft-ticket hasn't been responded to and that's around a month ago or more.

  • This error code is usually related to a folder that’s missing and prevents apps from installing.

    Try this to fix your download issue:

    1.  Go to start
      
    2.  Type “wsreset” hit enter
      
    3.  Try to launch
      

    That deletes the store caches.
    If that doesn’t work try this:

    1.  Launch store
      
    2.  Go to settings 
      
    3.  Click app updates
      
    4.  Click “sync licenses” button
      
    5.  Try to launch

    a) From Start screen, type cmd. From the results, right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as an Administrator.
    b) Type "net stop wuauserv" and press Enter.
    c) Type "rename c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old" and pressenter.
    d) Type "net start wuauserv"and press enter.

    Now try to download apps from Windows Store.

  • @emojohnsen I can understand the disappointment, I've just had a quick search and have found a couple of existing threads with suggestions - this seems the most comprehensive.

  • @lt-jd-fenix The map already exists as I've tried to do this fix before....
    Troubleshooting don't show anything wrong. But I got updates on my windows update which won't complete.

  • @katttruewalker Funny thing, I read that topic just before I raised a support ticket. As I said, I have all the maps and I've tried the fixes that people came up with in that topic.. :/

  • @lt-jd-fenix Windows encounted a potential problem with Windows Update-database.
    Tried your link, I can't install any of them updates as the update to version 1709 isn't installable yet because of the update problem I'm having.
