Mermaid Shell?

    So I see some peeps have a problem with the mermaid system...

    Heres a suggestion that might just work...

    What if there was an item that you purchase that you use to call a mermaid when goin overboard instead of a mermaid coming automatically...

    I seen people complain that the mermaids give away there position when trying to sneak on board an enemy ship so this is a way to resolve this

    Can also feed into progression because your gonna have to buy it but it should be a good amount, like maybe 5000 gold or however they would balance it.

    As far as the item goes I keep thinking of a shell that your character blows into...it should only work underwater and would be cool to see like a shockwave effect or something along those lines when used underwater...

    Would also be funny if you go to blow it above water and it doesnt work and sounds like a bunch of air and saliva being blown out lol

    What do you guys think, ye or nay?
    What item would you rather see? and if not, explain yer reasons mate

    I like this idea better than the mermaid being deployed right away. I think if everyone should get a default shell though, and make me pay 5000 gold for a jankity looking pirate one.

    yeah you deffo would need a default one otherwise you could lose your ship and never be able to get another back without logging out and back in again.

    This would need a lot of work and balancing but I kind of like the idea. That you have this magical shell that you need to maybe restore in an outpost everytime you want to use it... Just something to fight the nonsensical mermaid abuse. I really think that mechanic needs to be changed either with the shell or with something else. Players should be scared of falling out of the ship.

    Yea maybe 5000 is a bit pricey lol...I just figured it would be good with pregression like I didn't have anything to save me if I fall in the ocean before, unless of course my crew comes back for me...but now I got this shell that calls a mermaid to rescue me

    I think the concept of a tool to trigger the mermaid is a much better idea than the current auto-spawn feature. I do not think you should be forced to buy it though. Just as @Shisizle said.

    Yea Im starting to think it would be better to have a default one that everyone gets...then you can get it with a different skin for gold...but I think the default shell should be in purple...I just picture it being purple in my head for some reason lol
