  • @fourzeez Im quite sure that you will need three copies when you want to play together at the same time. But don't take my word on it.

  • If the PC is windows 10 then make sure to get 1 digital copy for play anywhere. That will cover 1 xbox and 1 pc. And honestly if you utilize your Xbox Home set up you could do it all with just 1 digital copy of the game

Update: should be 2 versions and at least 1 needs to be digital in order for 3 people to play at 1 time. The key lies in setting up your "home" console

  • @anubis316 @FourZeeZ

If you get the digital copy though, the PC and Xbox version running as your Gamertag could not be running at the same time, as it will be linked to your specific Gamertag.

  • @musicmee I was right xD

  • You will need only 1 digital copy of the game, bought from your private account.

If your account is active on each Xbox and PC you will be able to play with both of your kids. For more information, please check the Xbox Support

In my case, I have a PC and one Xbox One and I can play from my PC with my wife who's on Xbox with only one digital copy of SoT.

  • @badstarz You both can play at the same time? Together?

  • @jcmdeadpool I'm sure for two players in same time.
... And I'm not sure at 100% for more.

  • @fourzeez I don't know how many of your children's account have payed to subscribe to Xbox Live Gold ?

Here the link to "Using Xbox Live Gold sharing features on Xbox One"

  • @badstarz @Musicmee Maybe its Live Gold? Im not deep enough in this topic to say this.

But I bet that @FourZeeZ had to pay, not his kids xD

  • Here the thing to do in 4 steps:
1- Designate an Xbox One console as your home Xbox
2- Subscribe to Xbox Live Gold and buy Sea Of Thieves in digital version with your own account.

Now, anyone can log in with his account and play SoT from your Home Xbox.

3- Go on your PC (or 2nd Xbox), log in with your account. and download SoT. It will be free because you have already bought it.

4- Play with your friend, using Crossplay

  • Awesome!
    Thanks for all the help!
So if I download now is there any features available until the closed beta?

  • @badstarz

  • @fourzeez Not really. And the dowload will be avaible 24 hours bevore the beta starts.

  • I've done this for other games in my house hold. I play on PC and my other 2 kids play on our (2) Xbox One's/PC's.

In order for it to work, you would need to purchase the game twice (digitally). 1 for your account from PC (Microsoft Store - tied to your Xbox Account). Make sure to set your Xbox One to your home machine. That one would login to a family account (son or daughters name) and they can play on that Xbox because it's tied to Xbox Live. The other would need to purchase from their account. Now if they are going to play on the Xbox, they need their own account and Xbox Live. If they are going to play from PC, then they don't need Xbox Live.

    Enjoy.

  • @musicmee yea sorry, I had to run to work, but like 10 min after I posted it I realised my mistake. I don't PC game so I am not fully aware of how play anywhere would work, but yea makes sense you would need to be logged in. So it looks like 2 versions will be the smallest amount you can buy if we are indeed trying to have 3 people play at one time

  • Due to a mate not able to access the specified link for this thread I am bumping the thread up so he can see it while searching the forums. Sorry for this.
