SOT Partner Only Drops

  • Why are the new drops SOT Partner only? We need more players in the game, we need more ways to connect with other pirates, and streamers ABSOLUTELY NEED a way to give back to the community, and all we have now is SOT Partner exclusive drops that are once again terrible.

Instead of just... you know... making exclusivity a common theme with these twitch drops (like what you do with cosmetics), you can give drops to all streamers and shout out some underground streamers during these drop schedules to promote the overall community these streamers bring to the table. I got some small streamers that deserve to be part of the major SOT community, so why can't the community managers show the community some rising stars?

  • They alternate them methinks.
One drop for everybody and next one exclusive to Partners and on and on and on.

Drops look alright - Amethyst a nice set and some Gilded Phoenix bling.

I've seen some amazing streamers who engage with other players, have hilarious moments with them and provide memorable content, and then I've seen streamers who enjoy spawn-camping and ridiculing players who post their opinions, or who don't pvp, just to show everyone how great and mighty they are.
They're not the same. I'm glad Rare sees the difference.

Yea, so the managers can separate them, but it’s insane how I see the same type of streamer shouted out, they need to find people on the underground.

Yeah, because that totally sounds like a great place to find someone to be a partner.

Both are groups/communities of 'smaller' streamers.

SoT Partner used to mean something and be something to be proud of.
That sentiment has long changed a couple of years ago.
Favouritism and drama put the nail in the coffin.

You had SoT partners (Won't name names) that clearly did not meet the Monthly hours to upkeep partnership, yet maintained the status because of who they were and their connections.
On the other hand you had a couple of great personality's that did, and got dropped from the program...
And that's just the tip of the iceberg in terms of why SoT partner lost its ''value'' in the broader publics player eye.

Oh you're a SoT partner? Cool, anyways... Can you give me a key for a private server for the afternoon bro?

    Not according to the OP.

  • @europa4033
actually yea being a SOT partner doesn’t mean anything anymore, go from unemployed to unemployed but with 100 viewers, there’s no real benefit.

Thus negating the whole point of your post then. If it doesn't mean anything anymore, don't worry about who is or isn't a partner, and who is elligible to give drops or not. Just because it "doesn't mean anything anymore" to you, doesn't make it so for the developers.
