So I just learned that the obsidian bed twitch drop was available as promised after 100.000 mission completed during the community weekend. There was no counter for this target, and no communication on the SoT social channels. I got the traditional twitch drops within the first Hours of the weekend so I don’t needed to open twitch for the test of the Event.
IS this for real, Rare? What a nonsensical method of delivery is that?
I don’t have Facebook or instagram so no idea if it was posted there.
this is like the 4th time they have done the drops this way. it was on all their announcements as a stretch goal.... i dont like the twitch drop system in general but at least they made the goal reachable. i believe it was the 2nd time they did a stretch goal where the reward was kinda weak. drapes or something and they made the goal making it to the top 10 in twitch.... for a 5 year old game at that point AND at the end of a long season that had very little content and the game was pretty much dead in the water. i do wonder why they always do these twitch drops BEFORE an updated instead of after? perhaps they dont want all the streamers talking about how bad they thing the new changes are?
but yea the community cleared the missions really fast. probably thank to ps5 players. i imagine this community day has had the biggest turn out in a while since we have a whole new batch of players.. i however didnt even load the game. no reward i was interested in outside of the twitch drops which im anti twitch anyway so yea.
i have done pop up plunder every time it has happened in hopes of faster chests of fortune and because clearing fotd or fof was just tedious. the really sap the fun out of this game when they make the grinds so long.
but yea out of all the pop up plunder has happened ive only gotten a cof once. the fact it only happens every 3 hours as well? hard pass altogether.
It's not like it's something that people have to follow that closely.
I've never been in the discord and I don't follow anything on twitter for day to day news and I keep up to date on special event stuff.
We knew they were gonna have a special item so it's partly on us to check in imo.
It was a community event, participating is kind of the whole point. Even if that just means clicking the socials a few extra times or something to check in.
Seeing as the community level was only at 3 when the bed unlocked, you should have still been watching Twitch to get the community multiplier higher and it wouldn't have been missed.
The obsidian furniture seems to be trending on community Sunday's and within a ~24 hour window and thats not a guarantee, its entirely possible goals can be hit with very little time to obtain and I really dislike it, I feel like if we reach a goal everybody that logged in over the weekend should get it if we reached the goal. Not a fan of a small window to run and flip on twitch for an hour at the back end when most likely already got the drops earlier in the weekend. Just my thoughts, if they really want it rare or hard to get so be it.

You have to be active in one of their social circles. They post on discord, Twitter, etc… when these milestones are reached. Community weekend especially has always been about the social side of the game, outside the game itself. So you’ve gotta be in those places too.
100% true. Everything from pop-up plunder, to boosting views to earn an increase on the community day flag.
