Anyone else think its a bit of a missed opportunity for all the new toys to not have made their way to the emissary ledgers?
As someone who plays nearly exclusivly as Reapers, I was disappointed to see no new ledger items. Ive got 100% of the reaper + servants commendations and achievements and was hoping for something to work towards unlocking this summer.
Might log in to get some experience with the new weps, but otherwise sleeping on S12 before the Big Event in S13
No, I think it makes a lot of sense for the PS5 crowd starting from scratch to have a few months of catching up on twelve seasons' worth of emissary rewards while the rest of us have a season off.
To get to where we are they would literally have to max out all five emissary ledgers every month for a YEAR.
There are guild emissary rewards for this season and a literal ton of new time-consuming, grindy comms for us to work on while they play a little bit of catch up. We're fine.
I do think it's a bit puzzling that there isn't a double barrel flintlock or throwing knife skin for each of the factions this month.
I know Rare said that emissary ledger cosmetics are being paused indefinitely......I'd be curious to know why when we just got a couple of new weapons that could use a skin to complete their respective sets.
Emissary rewards have been awesome in quality but imo the ledger system itself should be retired for future rewards and replaced with in game rewards.
For years now it's largely been just a list of extreme outcomes where most of it on top is very much non-organic play. The seasonal reminder of how much this game is cheesed, either through extreme coordination or exploit.
It puts people in a situation organically where their requirements go up but the reward stays the same. Takes away from the freedom of gameplay and gets people playing like it's a job just to keep up with the requirements.
I meant not just the new weapons, those just seemed like a logical choice..
But nothing at all seemed odd.
I did NOT catch that they paused them indefinitely...
Also; pausing cosmetic releases for ps5 people doesnt make sense. Ps5 players arent the only people playing, "letting them catch up on 12 seasons worth of content" isnt a solid business model to ignore the rest of your playerbase.
