Day one on Playstation though. (Don't worry, I hate Sony, I'm not trying to get extra cosmetics for myself)

@nosferya08 From what we've seen, you'll need to link your Microsoft account to your PS5 for this game, so it should all be the same account. Same as it is for Steam.

But why??? why does everyone want every single item for the sake of having them?
I mean if it's exclusive to a console and a certain group related to an event, isn't that a sort of reward for their participation, wasn't that supposed to be part of their incentive for participating?

Look at it from their point of view, if they were to give this particular item out to others who did not participate, then wouldn't this diminish the value of joining PS5 Beta testing? Why even participate if x item will be eventually be available to others for whatever reason.

I'm pretty sure PC and Xbox have had our fair share of exclusive items PS5 users will never be able to acquire.

I'm going to respectfully disagree. PlayStation's beta test giving cosmetics is no different than the original, base game giving cosmetics for those that participated in that beta.

I kick myself every day for not playing SoT during the beta days. I would LOVE to have the Brave Vanguard Title, Sails, and Founder forum flair. But I don't go around expecting it to be handed to me, nor would I expect similar treatment for PS5's beta. I WILL however absolutely play that beta, so I don't miss out.

If you miss something, you miss it unfortunately. Life goes on, and doesn't wait/cater to any one person. I also missed the OG Wailing Barnacle weapons, but I don't want/expect the devs to re-release it, so I can be happy.

I don't have any of the super early stuff, a lot of the giveaway stuff, I wasn't even unlocking some of the time limited stuff early on when I played.

It's almost impressive how little I have of the extra stuff at my play time, lol

Point being is that it's more peaceful to just not have stuff than it is to want what anyone/everyone else has.

Yeah same here, it's much easier to be happy with what you have rather than what you don't. Most or at least some PS5 players will have missed out on years of items to get those sails, or whatever else.

FOMO Marketing appeals to this playerbase because it has a lot of people with consumerist and obsessive behavior. Is it wrong? Well, we can get into weeds about it but at the end of the day you aren't going to prove your case to anyone. People like being in the exclusive club and the exclusive club is a lot better if there are only a few ways in. There are more people who are afraid of NOT being in the exclusive club than people who actually want in. A lot of people are jumping in and saying it is entitlement. It goes a lot deeper than that.

There was a great article on FOMO marketing I read once (I think it was on Psychology Today but it was a few years ago so I don't remember). I would do some research to recognize what demographics it effects the most. That was a big eye opener for me.
