CoF in Safer Seas

  • I know there have been a lot of Safer Seas topics crowding the recent, and I apologize in advance for participating in that.

After working my butt off for the Fates of Fortune set, I can't help but wonder if it will be available in Safer Seas. I've heard some partners saying FotD and FoF's will be disabled, but still no word from Rare. If it will be enabled, that just ruins the point of the set. It's only impressive becuase it's hard to do with people fighting over a CoF.

    Happy Sailing!

  • confirmed no, as it exists now

no fotd no fof no cof as far as I know

as well as the other things not in there like emissary/athena/etc

  • @riptide3683 it won’t be, Mike Chapman confirmed this on Twitter yesterday :) neither the FOTD or FoF will be available on the Safer Seas.

  • So new players won’t know how to run it or how to even start it? What the point of safer seas again? I thought it was made to “help newer players learn”

a huge chunk of this game's player content has been the most experienced players mocking and messing with players that don't even know the basics.

even if safer seas gives them a chance to learn some of the basics without being turned into a pawn for content and people's entertainment it's a win.

that's never been good advertisement for the product and experience.

  • Thanks @tesiccl and @WolfManbush
I don't follow the Rare devs on twitter so I had no idea. : )

    Happy Sailing!

    Exactly this.

At the end of the day, Rare is simply trying to keep their game alive; and in this day and age, for better or worse, if your product isn't growing (in potential or profit) it's dying.

There are a bunch of other players who have either tried and left (myself included) or never even tried, simply because of the bad experiences that can be had in this game. At least this way, those players (and their microtransactions) are possible customers of this game.

  • As OP's question has been answered, I'll be dropping anchor here.
