Can't save items to my own ship

It said 'This item was successfully saved to your ship',but it doesn't!
Everytime I leave the game and start a new one,the ship figurehead sail hull remain the same as default sailor figurehead etc.
I've bought 15 ships,only 3 of them can save items successfully.
The best part is money for saving item is gone for good.
Is there anyone can tell me how to fix this bug?
