Technical problem - Microphone bitrate causing troubles on pc

  • Hello, I recently got the game and began playing with a friend of mine. The thing is that the in game voice chat sounds robotic and horrible, only half of what I'm saying is barely understandable. We found a reddit post that provided a solution: my friend solved this by changing her microphones bitrate format from default to '96000 hz (studio quality)'. The thing is that in my computer those options simply do not exists (I can only select '44100hz CD' or '48000hz DVD' quality) and this in makes it so that I can't communicate to other players inside the game. I've tried uninstalling and installing new drivers aswell as trying different microphones but I could not solve this issue, so I am hopping that there is some other solution to this. This is a problem that only occurs with this game, as it works on other games and voice chat applications. Any thoughts?

PD: If the info is worth something, my pc is an ASUS TUF F15 with an integrated mic.

DVD quality should be suitable. Not everyone's microphone or audio driver can support studio quality level and Windows should in fact tell you this.

CD quality was the one causing the issue. It's something to do with Windows, idk.

I just know that I was also having the issue you speak of and when I switched mine to DVD quality, it fixed it.

This is also to say there is a microphone bug in the game where if you merge, it breaks your audio on the mode you've selected unless you re-log.

An an example, if you have set to push to talk toggle and merge, toggle is now broken and you have to pick a new mode for the mic setting or relog into the game.

  • So...I've been touching the mic settings on windows this past few days. I remember spending 2 hours with my friend trying to solve this issue and today I logged in to play with some random people and everyone could hear me well, so I don't know what I did but it kind of solved itself? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ (I don't remember the exact order of steps we tried, but maybe changing the mic quality and then restarting the pc is the way to fix this. I sadly couldn't keep trying stuff as she had to go and I just got to log in again today).
If it's worth anything for someone in the future, I have my mic on '2 channels, 16 bits, 48000hz DVD quality', that solved the issue.
Thank you so much to everyone who commented here!
