I allways had stable fps just sometimes when approaching new island it was bad for few seconds, now after last 4.9 gb update sot stuttering very often, fps drops then goes fast up again and even when i close game it closes very long making pc laggy and this happening only with sot ive tried other in-game graphic options and gpu driver updates but nothing helped, any clue what can it be ?

You may be right i did file verification on steam it helped i think but time will tell
@mindaugas1991 if I play for 30 minutes or more the game start to shuttering specially when I'm in Fullscreen mode.
I'm having the same problem lately. After a few minutes in game the stuttering comes in. Islands take ages to load in, and when I get near them the game becomes unplayable for a good few moments. This problem began with the patch that came before the Shrouded Deep. Is there anything to do about this? I've already verified the files, and they all seem to be present and working.

I also have the same problem. When loading the islands, the frame rate per second drops to 0, and the ping can grow to 1100. I really want to play this game, but I can't enjoy it because of this problem. Even when you show up at an outpost, you need to wait 15-20 minutes for the FPS to stabilize. And this happens when approaching each island. If someone has already solved this problem, please tell us how. I can't even write to tech support. Their page doesn't load. Please help me!

Maybe we could narrow down the cause. Are you using a GPU by NVIDIA by any chance? Maybe even the server/region could be causing problems, and thus it doesn't have to be a client-side problem at all.

This problem started with a 4.9GB update. I didn't have any problems before. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 1050 graphics card and an i5-7300HQ processor with a frequency of 2.50 GHz@lami-the-insane
I downloaded the latest drivers from the NVIDIA website, after which the problem was partially fixed. My fps still drops to 0 and ping flies into space, but now everything stabilizes in 30 seconds instead of 20 minutes. You can download the latest video card driver and post the result here. I also communicate with those support. As soon as I get a response I will post here.@ixxxoloff I had the driver downloaded before the latest update so I was thinking it might be the driver's fault, but since you said you updated it and it got better I don't think that is the case.

I am having problems with performance of the game, too.
The game always used to work well, but after that 4.9 GB update, I can't play at all!
I get low FPS, isle/events/ships take ages to load and sometimes the screen even freezes for some long seconds affecting to the general flux of the game (black screen after dying is bigger, too).My PC runs other games without problem, so I think it isn't exclusively a problem of my PC.
I love this game, but after that update I can't enjoy it.

I have, if I am not wrong, a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.
My processor is an Intel Core i3-6100.
I tried to install last NVIDIA controllers, but it didn't help too much.I was running the game perfectly smooth as well but after this patch the stuttering hell appeared out of nowhere. When i spawn in i have a short stutter every 5 seconds and after 10 minutes of gameplay the stutter becomes worse and constant. Screen freezes stutters along with audio and the game becomes completely unplayable.
The experience has been horrible since the patch, the game is almost unplayable and it gets worse everytime there's action. I haven't been able to enjoy the adventure due to all the heavy stuttering having the storm, the ghost ships, the ghost meg and the other players nearby. Even the game crushed and I didn't recieve the check marks for the completed adventure. I'm constantly loosing fights to another crews due to the game crushing and not performing well.
I have a 4000$ gaming PC with a RTX 5080 and ryzen 9 7950x3d and the fps shuddering in sot is AWFUL. Its never been fixed and honestly i doubt it can. the code is too unstable. sots last hope is a sot 2 with brand new servers and a new engine. and also new code that does break when something changes. i hate to see the game like this man
