solo crew mode to play alone in the game

  • Ok so I'm incorrect as you stated because you say I didn't read the post well let's look again shall we.

I read and reread to be sure. So from what I'm looking at you're asking for a solo mode that can't be entered by other players. Also because you are alone you want a speed boost to certain tasks on your boat such as raising the anchor. Then you say some stuff like it won't help much and it'll help players become the best they can be.

The solo mode suggestion. This can already be achieved by using the closed crew option however it sounds to me like you want it completely closed so you can't change you're mind while you're in game. While im not completely opposed to this it feels unnecessary as it limits the players choice to later bring a friend. You would have to restart to join an actual crew. However this is just a minor inconvenience but I see why it's suggested to set up the buff.

The buff suggestion. This is an unbalance to the game. This allows one player to be superior to any other one player even if they may have a crew. You are only one person at no point should they ever make it so actions you perform count as if you were two. Besides you said it wouldn't help much so why even suggest it the first place and this suggestion just assumes the 2 man sloops works in perfect harmony always raising anchor together and such. I prefer the level playing field that already exists no buffs you're only one person. If you really wanted someone to be as good as they can get you wouldn't ask for artificial enhancements that only increase the skill gap between a new and veteran players.

Now I can understand why it may feel as if something needs to be buffed while you are solo but that's because you're um solo not even jack sparrow can do it by his onesy(Did you see the first movie where he sailed in solo yeah that's how it goes). The sloop is a two person ship sailing it solo is difficult and should rightly be so. One person can only do so much and personally I think it should stay that way. As a solo player myself I feel the game is already balanced and doesn't need any buffs. So all in all if I had a vote it would be no.

  • @slickwillywonka
    Now, thank you.
That is something one can respond to.
The restriction I proposed was just a drawback or punishment for using that "enhanced one person crew mode" or however one would call it.

You are correct that the single "buffed" person in "single person crew mode" would be in an advantage against a single person in "normal crew mode", but that would be as if you try to take on a galleon or brigantine on your sloop with the broadside: a bad idea.

I said that it would not help much because it would possibly impact situations where people use the chain shot, which usually ends a fight for a single person if the attacking crew is somewhat coordinated. Otherwise, two or more people will always have the upper hand if they are not oblivious or somehow much worse than the single person. You could call it thus a debuff for the chain shot against single players who decided to be unable to invite others to their ship.

Apart from that, I just wanted to drop it here and maybe someday someone responsible could make something useful out of it.

Is there a hotline for strange addictions?

Speaking of hot lines, walking on the "line" of a harpoon was also a thing that would be nice to have.

  • OR... you could get a crew?

  • it would be way more balanced, when so much players playing this game it would be no problem having a solo vs solo server and a mixed.just join a mixed server and it doesnt effect yourself. its impossible winning in the most cases against a good brig crew, but i know all you guys are pro owner world champs in sot.

  • I wouldn't mind a solo mode, simply because I just want to relax after work, not have to be spawn camped by a galleon calling me profanity for my small stash of skulls.

Won't happen, though. Something about the 'spirit of the game' and people afraid of others enjoying the game without them or something. Gotta have those PvP fests and all, otherwise players lose their minds.

Pvp doesn't go anywhere in solo servers it just gets easier.

there is pretty much nothing for a pvper to worry about in a solo server. Consequences are less severe for mistakes/glitches/random unfortunate moments

Solo servers will just be a bunch of alliance servers where pvpers come on to slaughter them every now and again. Much much easier for a pvper in this scenario than dealing with a shared server

and it will be new which means the new fad will be pvpers wiping solo servers

Those servers will end up much less peaceful than people think. Alliance servers galore but dead pirates and lots of stolen loot.

  • @mew-schnee you want more solo instance based PVE only opportunities. So do many. A Pirates Life is a start. I actually love the PVE element in this than the dread element that serves no purpose. In all honesty the ship fighting PVP element of this game is a floating version of call of duty, Fortnite. Some people love it, some don’t. I personally could care less about the dread element. I love when I’ve already sold and get sunk 😂

    Nope. Wrong thread. Bye.

  • Nope , it's fine as it currently is , heck I can sail the 4 man ship by myself ATM.

So no changes need to be made.

... for the times when they want to do a solo trip on the seas or do not find a buddy to play with.

  • Or maybe when ship is sunk spawn on a different island far from where sunk to prevent constant attacks by same boat instead of buffs ( this prevents big changes and helps everyone) ( or at least the option to in case you want to stay and try to win back treasure)
