Gold Covered Decks - Suggestion (COSMETIC ONLY)

    Over time of accumulating gold on this game, I have always had the thought in my mind that there should be a way of showing off to the rest of the server just how rich you (and your crew) are. Perhaps over certain milestones of gold collection I think your ships deck should slowly gain (COSMETIC ONLY) piles of gold. However, depending on the responses to this thread it could also be total gold you and your crew members possess at the time.

    I know this doesn't affect gameplay in anyway I just figured it would be pretty neat to pull up to other pirates ships and see their decks glistening in huge sporadic piles of gold on the decks of their ship.

    not something I'm against as when it comes to cosmetics I don't typically see any reason to be firmly against them outside of people trying to implement some sort of political or social messaging

    but as far as significance goes this doesn't mean much in an environment where people make 50% of up to 5 other ship's loot

    it's essentially a gold plated alliance server bumper sticker

    @wolfmanbush It's not meant to be a competition when seeing other peoples ships. Just something cool to look at especially if you have a net worth of about 10mil gold. If ya get me.

    @galactic-geek it wouldn't necessarily have to contain that "shininess" gloss of the already existing gold plated treasures in the game. If it does then perhaps it should only show when in a certain range of it.

    Seasoned players may be able to tell the gold apart from loot but new players would get confused.

    I wish the Tribute Peak Hull had a shiny gold deck. In the same way the kraken hull is reflective purple.

    @tathulm It would be nice to have more options for different colored boards. Ship interiors could also use a little color.

    @miserenz Just gold coins would be laying around, not the trinkets you find in the seas.

    So, with all of the other QoL requests and bugs yet to be addressed, you want to add today's equivalent of a gold grille to the boats? Going on current progress, I'm down. Maybe we can have it so if you have enough loot onboard, the gold in your pocket jingles when you walk or run with the volume based on worth.. and then we can get a line or emote to go along with it: 'Yer jingl'ing baby' & the proper reply: 'go 'head baby!'

    Why just gold? Extend it as a new type of customisation. Bilge rats could have ropes and broken boxes scattered around the decks. Gold hoarders gold piles and sacks of gold. Order of Souls skulls and bones, that sorta thing.
