It's honestly ridiculous a game made by Microsoft studios and rare to have such poor server performance and inconsistent loading times, updates are made to the game and the server can't even handle them, maybe update your hardware before you update the software at least get that to work right I don't know if the guy down there is not changing the floppy disks fast enough but it's time to get rid of that obsolete equipment that you guys are using to power this game
Pathetically inconsistent server performance
How Is it with 1Gb/s internet. 500mb/s download speed 400mb/s upload speed at 10ms response time to the console! And the loading times from title screen to loading in game is never the same whenever you take a mermaid the loading time is never the same sometimes in the middle of flame heart it could take 2 seconds from mermaid to ship but then out in the open ocean by yourself it's 90s loading screen, same with from the ferry of the dead. There's no consistency in the time that it takes from mermaid to ship or from the door on the ferry to the ship every time it's such a drastic difference sometimes not very often it's under let's say seven seconds and other times multiple loading screens goes black flashes white goes black again and the captain wheel just spins in the bottom corner the longest one I've had was two minutes on an Xbox One X.
@torski87 Do you have a SSD? Mine makes all of the difference in the world! with it, it's basically 5 second load times everywhere unless the ship sinks.
Load times for SoT have been optimized network-wise. Any issue you're having with load times is a hardware issue on your end.

Yes I do it's at 35% capacity
Persistent storage cleared
Cleared Mac address
Full shutdown to clear cache
Regularly blow dust out🤷♂️
@galactic-geek to me if it's being restricted by hardware wouldn't it just be consistently slow I just don't get how you never get the same load time twice

Well, it does change under specific circumstances - for example, like when I said that my ship was sinking.
Absolutely I understand that it is circumstantial. I've been doing a few tests myself and in near identical conditions I still can't get a consistent load time. For example I was just in a very demanding area with flame heart ships, and two player ships, all just shooting cannon balls at whatever's in range. I jump off the boat and start swimming away from it catch a mermaid great seven seconds back in the ship, do the same thing 1 minute 30 seconds.
Go out to the middle of nowhere not an NPC or player insight. Jump off the boat (which is at a standstill) catch a mermaid 45 seconds. Do the same thing still nothing in sight over 1 minute 30 seconds. Jump off do it again 20 seconds do it again one minute 10 seconds
It's not his hardware it's the servers, I run a series x and the load times are noticeably longer now.
The game and servers need better optimization. I don't even bother running 120 fps since it causes the game to crash more often.
You can see how bad the lag is now when someone shoots out of a cannon. The servers are struggling.
@l-snapper-l well its crashing for me and my nephew and sot is the only game on my series x. It's not my gigabit internet connection.
Are you playing on m/k because I am that may be the only difference between our setups?
