Buff the kraken

  • Currently the kraken is really weak and whenever someone sees it they always think free loot. They never actually think their gonna sink to the kraken because the monster is super weak, and considering the fact that this is one of the games bosses i think it should actually be difficult
    1.make it attack more often. Sometimes when I encounter a kraken on a sloop it dont even attack its just free loot

    1. Make it so that if your on a galleon 3 tentacles can wrap around your ship at once. If on a brigatine make it so that at most 2 can wrap around your ship at the same time and if your on a sloop only 1 at a time.

    2. make it so that during a kraken fight a special type of shark spawns in the water that will bite your boat causing holes. the inky water can have at most 7-8 big sharks At a time. These sharks are slightly bigger than your average shark.

    3. Maybe make it so that multiple tentacles can slap a ship at the same time

    4. Maybe make it so that if your in a storm the chances of a kraken encounter increases so if you are in a storm and you do encounter a kraken the fight will be insanely difficult

    6.make it so that the kraken can wrap around and break the mast leaving you vulnerable to people that find you

    7 and because its a boss give the player that kills it a decent amount if loot and make it so that all the loot appears in 1 spot after the kraken is defeated

  • if somone see's it they dont think free loot lol. they think oooh 2 pieces of kraken and 1 captains chest!

  • To be fair, nothing in this game is difficult on the pve side. Challenge is suppose to come with the pvp side of the game.

    Regarding the Kraken itself, I don't think that someone want to fight it since it gives so little rewards.

    I guess it could use a buff, not as extreme as you suggest. Make it so while escaping isn't too difficult, defeating it would be a challenge.

  • @toast-ghost1323 I agree the PvE elements need a buff. And they don't need their loot elevated to compensate. The kacken didn't originally drop any loot. It was just a random threat that you faced if you were caught in open waters between other server events. It should inspire dread, not opportunity.

    Thats only because it is currently so doesn't mean it can change

    That much is true its more of a time waster than rewarding

    It needs to take more cannonballs to take down and it needs to reward more this is my suggestion

    Good luck with any buff towards PvE. Rare caves under pressure from their fragile PvE players that complain about it being too hard. Mind you its not all PvE players. A lot of them can handle themselves pretty well but you always have those that very first thing they do is complain when they lose instead of trying to find out how to get better.

    One thing I would like if they do it though is make it to where you can still find a way to kill the kraken even without cannon balls. I never like being "out" of options just because someone didn't have cannon balls and if you are out and you get wrapped, thats pretty much it.

    But yeah, good luck with them making anything difficult. The only way they know how to make anything really "challenging" is to have the AI have perfect auto aim and make them a complete sponge to damage. No finese or anything just wackamole till its dead while you die off and on to 100% autoaim bot NPC's.

  • The attempt to buff the Kraken by the OP shows that he doesn't understand how the encounter works in the first place, citing "encounter chance".

    Overall I think the change to allow the Kraken to wrap multiple tentacles at once on bigger ships is the only change that should be made. Adding too much difficulty to an event that new players will have no idea how to get out of is a dangerous idea for fear of alienating those new players.

    If you must have a little bit more difficulty than more tentacles, perhaps when a player is knocked in the water they are given an "Inky" status effect, which slows them for about the same amount of time that fire lasts, and creates a path of ink where they walk that slows others which walk through it.

    The ink could be washed away by dousing it with a bucket of water, such as how fire works currently in the game.

    This idea is completely asinine, especially considering there's already the risk of a tentacle grabbing you while in the water.

    This idea needs to be added, the loot should be on par, if not better than a megalodon encounter, and appear at the site of either the last tentacle or slightly off the side of the ship.

    maybe i'm just unlucky but the kraken can sink a gally the way it is now and nope the kraken is fine
