Bug: Issue with cosmetic chests previews

    I've already submitted a bug report on this but wanted to gauge if it's affecting many players.

    Basically, when I interact with the clothing or vanity chests since today's update, the game is no longer showing a preview of what the item looks like on my character. Instead the preview pane remains blank.

    I tried waiting a bit of time to see if it's a loading issue but that doesn't seem to be the case. The game is also installed on a secondary SSD drive so I can't see that being an issue when everything else loads pretty snappy.

    I'm playing on the MS Store version, so maybe it's a bug with that build?

    Edit: also affects previews in the clothing store and Emporium for pirate cosmetic items.

    Same here.

    After the update (before and after the hotfix), when I try to load the preview in the clothing or vanity chest, the game crashes (happened around 12+ times), or the preview doesn't load (same as you, maybe 4 times) or the preview loads correctly (only hapenned 1 time).

    Playing on PC, Steam, Intel HD Graphics 620 driver 27.20.100.8587 (latest as of now), Windows 2004 19041.508 (up to date as well), game installed on the C:\ drive.

    I found a workaround that worked for me.

    To prevent the crash, I need to wait 1-2 minutes after starting the game before opening a chest.
    After that time, I open and close the vanity chest multiple times, sometimes putting my cursor over items, sometimes not, and after 3-10 tries the preview will be working for the rest of the game.

    Edit: Video showing the workaround. I did a first try by waiting long enough, my character appeared in the end. I did a second try by rushing to the chest and the game crashed.

    Yeah, I am guessing this is a pretty widespread issue, going on responses here and Reddit. It, by no means, is affecting everyone but it's more common than a lot of bugs.

    It's not a game breaker for me personally (I haven't yet had the crashing issue from it) but it is sadly disappointing. Hopefully, they can fix it soon.

    No crashes here, but can confirm spam opening chest + clicking random items made it work eventually.

    Opened the chest about 5 to 10 times in a row.

    Getting same, no preview in clothing store or chest. I'm on Xbox PC retail version.

    A real drag as I want to create my style for my character :)
