Problem with inviting friends (Sea of Thieves Steam Version)

    Hello everyone,

    got a problem with the invitesystem in the steam-version and tryed many workarounds for 3 hours or so with no luck whatsoever.

    The problem is, i try to invite a friend ingame where u pick a boat and then invite, and when u stand around on an island. Sometimes the invite shows up in the xbox app for my friend, sometimes it´s not.
    But even when it shows up, he can do nothing with it. The notification window just closes when he clicks the message and nothing happens.
    Same happens when he try´s to invite me.

    Someone had the same problem and know´s a fix?

    @Ryu-the-Demon what version are your friends on? steam, xbox or Microsoft store?

    Try these links which have helped others in the past.

    The 1st link doesn't work for me but it may for you. if the problem persists after looking though this let me know and ill have a deeper look for you.

    the first link doesn´t work for me either. it say´s that i´m not authorized to see this page ^^

    and for the second link, tryed all of this and nothing worked.
    the joining over xbox game bar before all because that thing didn´t even show me the friendlist. "ur friendlist can not be shown right now, please try later again" is all i get from this, but that is a problem for another topic i guess...

    perhaps those are interconnected?? like if your trying to join your friend perhaps it is rejecting because it can't identify them?

    here is what to do. first off. on the console companion app, create a "club" with your friend/friends. usually this fixes the "your friendlist can not be shown right now, please try later again" problem. try once after that.

    if that doesn't work, try joining through the game bar or the xbox console companion app for windows 10 (now that your friends should be showing).

    Ensure that the game bar is turned on in windows, settings, gaming. before you try though.

    in the companion app. you can click on their profile if they are online and eventually a message will pop up under their profile which says to join.

    if your problem further persists than it is either a firewall/antivirus issue, or some other obscure interference. (eg if your pc time and date is not set on automatic... this literally caused so many issues its not even funny)
    i would suggest contacting a support member in the support tab on this website if all else fails.

    PS if you need someone to test ill gladly test it if you are on.
