Hello! Love all the work going into the game!
One idea I think could be fun would be to allow characters to climb on the rope of the harpoon. This could used to infiltrate forts and bases, board enemy ships, and even pull off a quick getaway on islands if you have good coordination with your crewmate(s) left to guard the ship while questing. Climbing would be slow, perhaps the speed of carrying a chest or even a bit slower, but zip lining would be very fast.
Nuance on the idea: The ability to zip line (sliding down) vs. climb could have some tricky edge case situations, so I would propose the following system to mitigate bugs (for example starting a zip line from ship to ship to have a wave change the heights and send you backwards or stuck in the middle): Give the player the option to climb or zip line (F to climb, R to zipline, etc) to let the player strategically decide what to do. Second option could be to make it so players can only zip line if they are attached to a solid object aka land/islands/buildings AND going downhill, and will climb in all other cases. I also imagine that if the rope is recalled or otherwise cut/removed during a zip line/climb the players would just drop where they are as opposed to anything else.
Anyway, if anyone has strong opinions about the idea I'd love to hear your feedback. Thanks!
