At least on the PC side, the player base is dwindling. All these events, and my crew rarely runs into anyone. Depressing to me and my friends. We may find a sloop occasionally, but for the most part other players are scarce.

I was sailing between 2am and 5am the other morning (UK time) and there was at least 3 sloops and a brig that I saw (in addition to my sloop) doing the rounds.
The brig even had the Fort of the Damned going.
@deadly-tuna-bag I have to agree with @triheadedmonkey. My crew has seen people on every session, now more than ever. I think doing our Athena's Run we identified 6 different boats.

Well, maybe UK servers are better, idk. I havent ever had such luck. we are lucky if we find players. Even luckier if they can fight back. Maybe i need to use a vpn to find a different server.
@deadly-tuna-bag I'm on east coast north american servers and see boats all the time. I play on xbox but on the everyone servers
@captain-coel You are seeing people doing Athena runs? I sold fifty of everything already and I can count the number of ships I saw actually doing the voyage/trying to tuck on two hands.
Servers certainly aren’t dead btw, do not agree that there is no one sailing around.
@drewdigon only a handful doing athena runs. sometime a ship tries to get in there before we get back. I haven't done all 50 yet but I'm having fun with it

I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard that Reaper's chest and bounty markers (those green-red and gold streamers, respectively, in the sky) only appear if there's at least 3 ships on the server. If true, you can simply server hop until you see 1, and be comforted by it knowing that there are others out there sailing too.
