Well, I'm kinda glad I gave my copy of this game away.. not because of the game, which is a nice "PG" look at the more whimsical part of piracy done in that Rare way that reminds me of those N64 days playing Banjo-Kazooie or Diddy Kong Racing.. just a really mellow tone..
Then I pick the game back up and haven't been playing for even a month, and I want to Drop it.
I'm not sure if this is an issue with the community as a whole or just and Xbox problem (Can't switch Servers)
I have legit just set sail from the menu, and only had to have been just out of the tavern when a Brig Sunk me.. This again happened by a two man Sloop, right after I grabbed the closest voyage.
Before, when I had actually put a little money in the game, it seemed there was a better player base whom would roll up on an outpost, see an undistinguished sloop, perfectly parked.. and shout on the horn or Voice Chat, just asking what's up.
I knew about the loss of digging up a whole literal Boat-Load of Treasure only to be Sunk/Boarded/Camped/Kicked Off Server.
So small loads, only one or two voyages worth of loot per load.
But these players are only out to make the game unplayable.. they'll pick a region it seems, like the Shores.
Prowl for a ship, sink it, then head to the area they think it just spawned to sink it again..
If you're fast enough, playing Solo, you can Raise Anchor, Lose Sails, and hopefully spot them before they Cannon over a guy who just anchors you and prevents you from fighting on the Cannon.
Sink - Repeat.
Leaving and coming back did nothing.
So I look up the best way to contact anyone who's involved with the culture of the game.. Realized I got Insider Ready to Download (don't know how I have it)
Come here, ask a couple legit questions explaining I'm new and get talked down to by Players who claim that this is how things were meant to be.
Especially when I ask for some kind of something to deal with this problem, yes, I was asking for the Dev's to pull "Acts of God" levels of deterrence by the end of it, I got Angry.
Everyone knows people become bigger jerks online.
Doesn't mean we have to cater to it or let it dominate something meant for everyone..
I'm going to leave you with this video because it's what got me to try this game out again.. and I wish I hadn't
If it's a ganking "Heck-Pit" (You know what I mean) then I'm deleting it and any gifts that might be awarded in the absence.. I'll just Delete the Pirate and be done with it.
I'n glad the only money I sunkk into this game was Xbox Free Play
