End Spawn Camping Pleeeeeeeease.

  • I know others have mentioned this too, but adding my 2 pence to the discussion.

    2 boarded the galleon, fire placed at spawn points, 2 enemy crew with EoR in safe zones already scoped to fire into players back upon respawn, player catches fire, shot before can even turn (On Xbox they are on PC with mouse). Estimated was alive less than 3 seconds each time.

    Discussed with crew, agreed nothing we can do differently to prevent it other than stop them board, however that’s not always feasible, and a crew should at least have a competitive chance to have a fun fight with a boarder. Stopping them board is just as dull.

    Rare, this is not some glamourous, wonderful pirate melee fight lasting a minute across the entire length of the ship, it’s boring, dull, frustrating, it’s scuttle and move on.

    May I suggest that an enemy crew cannot use the ammo reload or gun cabinets on enemy ships, have them locked. This way the boarders only have 5 bullets and the spawn camping will end fairly quickly and then there will be a fight. Boarders then need to be great with the sword, use weapons wisely, and will have to move around the fire too, rather than snipping from safety.

    Rare at all cost, you must make this a fair contest, sort out the spawn camping problem which with fire has really been exacerbated.

    4v4, how was it not fair? Usually it's solo slooper who complain about spawn camping, equal numbers are still not good enough?

    This is where it went wrong. You've let people on your ship and they took control of it, using strategy to get the upper hand and put you in a difficult position. It sucks for your crew, but they used the tools at their disposal and won.

    It's frustrating I get it, but if this happens again, coordinate with your crew to spawn at the same time to get a better fighting chance, they can't snipe all of you. If it doesn't work, respawn and move on.

    Yes, you got outmatched and outplayed in tactics, awareness, experience and skill. You don't have too much of a chance left (though I've escaped similar situations before, so there is a chance), so use the tool designed to prevent spawn-camping, the tool which you are fully aware of and reminded of at every death, which is scuttling the ship. That was what was said on its introduction: if the situation is too much, it provides an escape from that for you.

  • @corleththefey I have some issues with the spawn mechanics, but a Galleon is large enough that not all spawn points can be covered at once by two pirates. Not even sure all 4 pirates could cover them all.

    Did you guys not organize your spawn to go in together?

    Btw. I am on a PC with an SSD and have died in blackscreens and spawn camped - the game just sometimes really has issues with spawning on the ship during combat/activity/people walking around on spots etc., but that was always on a sloop where one can easily cover all the spawn points with proper knowledge of where they are with 2+ pirates.
