Whilst thinking about the lack of cosmetics, it got me to thinking, how about if we could purchase a sheen for our weapons?
These could be pretty expensive in terms of gold and give those that put in the effort, something to set them apart.
Incase you're unsure what I mean, here's an example of a purple sheen and a green sheen on my shotgun from TF2:

The sheen is animated and moves along the length of the weapon periodically.
Currently, weapons are relatively cheap to obtain (in relation to how easy it is to achieve 100k gold at the moment) and there is nothing to distinguish between someone who has completed four or five forts to someone who has thousands of hours in the game. Possibly even a perk for PL's.
