Three editions of the game are available to Battle.net buyers, each bundled with extras ranging from in-game cosmetics to digital downloads. While most of these bonuses are included in editions bought from any storefront, the Battle.net version of the Premium Edition also comes with something bespoke: five special sails evoking Battle.net favourites, so you can display your other allegiances to passing crews as you begin your grand seafaring adventure.

As we’re still six weeks out from Battle.net launch at the time of writing, there’s plenty of time to pre-purchase, which means even more perks are on the table. The Cobalt Kestrel weapons are exclusive to players who pre-purchase any version of the game through Battle.net, while those who go for the Deluxe Edition will also have access to a Sea of Thieves Closed Beta running from May 2nd–5th. Cross-play with other platforms will be up and running during this period, and progress made in the Closed Beta will carry over to full launch on May 22nd!

Premium Edition pre-purchasers can expect to get their hands on the widest range of perks, with an invite to the Closed Beta and a further Early Access period running from May 16th–22nd. There’s a Season 16 Plunder Pass thrown in too, enabling extra unlockable rewards throughout the next Season, which kicks off on the day Sea of Thieves launches on Battle.net for everyone.

You can visit the Sea of Thieves page on Battle.net now to get answers to some frequently asked questions, enjoy a reminder of how the game has evolved since 2018 and put down a pre-purchase if you want to be in on the Closed Beta action in a couple of weeks’ time. And as one final gesture of celebration, all players regardless of platform can expect to receive the Sails of Bonded Brawlers for free when Sea of Thieves hits Battle.net on May 22nd!
