Unsporting players

  • @HaydnSym45
As a PC player who has used macros in the past, let me start by saying that you do not understand macros if you think that is what killed you. The only usable macro's I have bothered to use is one that toggles the left click (cause who wants to hold that down when all you want is a bit of hurdy) and one that presses 3 then left click to eat a banna quickly.

The real advantage and what probably killed you was the fact that to change weapon for us it's just the mouse wheel. Hope that clears some of your misconceptions, but I love it how anyone good is instantly a PC Player.

  • I have a friend that sinks ships after he completes his quest, its always his way of saying good night to his session.
I have told him its ok to do that but lets pick a crew that seems experienced and wait till they fire on us that way they kinda get what they looked for but he doesn't care he will pick galleons, sloops, with noob single players to him it does not matter, there is no reasoning.

When he picks on noob sloops I normally quit my session before he does any damage and leave him to his fate but as I mentioned he does not care , no reasoning and he just believes its ok for him to do so, there is no changing his jerk mentality.

  • @haydnsym45 I've run into this same scenario a few times ( maybe 50) in 3000 hours of game play. As a crew we typically work through it by out sailing the Macro users crew. I ran into a streamer who uses both aim assist and trigger assist but won't mention his name. All he had to do was look your way and you were double shot. It didn't matter how fluidly you moved or jumped defensively it was always a hit. 5 yards or on an island jumping in a storm while he was on his ship 120 yards away. He always hit! The double shot was so quick it literally only made one sound. Luckily these problems rarely arise and I've been able to enjoy 99% of the time I've played against honest fair players. For those who use boys shame on you and for those who use macros maybe one day you'll get better so you don't have to! Until then....... We'll still sink you because you can't be everywhere at once!😀

  • It is not unsporting to shoot and kill another player. Its unsporting to get killed and rage quit or call the other player a cheater because u died/lost. Spawn camping, also not unsporting.. Cheap, for sure thou. I am an Xbox player, i get out classed by PC players occasionally. NBD. Rare enabled cross play and i knew that when i purchased the game. If i want to eliminate the small advantage they have.. i could spend $1k+ on a PC like they did.

  • @eva1977 Funny.. i have a friend i occasionally play with who wants nothing to do w PvP.. and if i attack someone he gets upset. We should swap friends, lol. Sounds like your friend is aware of what SoT is, PvPvE. That in no way makes him a jerk. He just wants the full SoT experience. Nothing wrong w that :)

  • @shinten-rai Are you suggesting that the Player is fighting the Enviroment and that inviroment in turn attacks another player because the first one is fighting it?
It's called PvPvE I didn't creat this phrase I use it.

Also you've missed my point completely but I'm used to that since I post a lot here and there are more people who somehow twist and turn things around to make me a PvP monster so meh.
Aaaan you also confirmed my point about rare openly stating that they made a game where the other players are a threat so there's that and they've even killed other players on stream.

@lI-JRATT-lI Remember that Eva even said it was at the end of the session, so you sink someone for the fun of it and then log off. I know it's the freedom a person gets and I'm not going to stop anyone or ask people to put a stop to it, but it is kind of a jerk move.

@ElysianLegion89 I say good sir, have you read the box? It says Islands are in the game, now stop complaining! ;-)

    Ahoy there!

Sea of Thieves is a Shared World Adventure Game where we'll always need to be wary of the intentions of other sails on the horizon.

With experience, it's possible to avoid most, if not all, encounters with other ships even if they're intent on pursuing you.

There are some good guides in this section of the forums to help with strategies to keep you safer on the seas -

Rare please sort out something that allows people to come on and play and get quests done and not be constantly attacked/sunk etc by bored pc players/pirate legends etc. It make us not want to play anymore as it’s becoming very tedious.

Please give players somewhere to go and fight and play with players with the same mentality and let others enjoy your game

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but how are you supposed to improve as a gamer when you're surrounded by players who are no better than you?

Additionally pirate legend and PC players do not cause me any issues; this is not Quake, Duke 3D, or any of the fast FPS games that gain advantage by use of a mouse and keyboard.

Most X box players however are kinda weird in that they fail to remap thier controller to be far more effective in combat. That's the only failure in the part of rare is the default controller button map is bad.

If you personally fix that in your own and improve your game play them YOU will be every bit as dangerous as the players you complain about.

  • @hynieth I do not think 2 sentences spaced out in multiple paragraphs and on completely separate pages is not openly stating exactly how much PvP there is in this game. People who know and watch these streams are majority those who play and have been playing for a long time now. There are new players who come into the game via game pass or outright buying the game in full and these are the people who are having the bad time, not us. You can't expect everyone to be on your equal ground right off the bat.
