Hi,
I’d like to share my thoughts on the current weapon swap system in Sea of Thieves. I understand and appreciate the changes that have been made, as I recognize the old system was unfair to newer players who didn’t have the same advantages as veteran players. This was definitely a problem, and I can see why the changes were necessary.
However, the current weapon swap feels too slow and limiting. While it’s understandable that the developers wanted to create a more balanced experience for all players, the slower swap speed now prevents both experienced and newer players from pulling off technical and stylish trickshots, which could add an extra layer of excitement and creativity to the game. These dynamic moments really bring the gameplay to life, and without them, it feels a bit stagnant.
One possible solution could be to introduce an alternative method of swapping weapons, which could be faster than the current one, allowing players to execute these creative plays without compromising the balance. This way, both newer players and those with more experience could enjoy the game while keeping it fair and dynamic.
Additionally, if the developers were to pay more attention to the feedback from experienced players (or, as I would call them, veterans), it could help address some of the issues with cheating. If players were encouraged to improve their skills and not fight against an unbalanced system, it could significantly deter people from cheating, as they wouldn’t want to face systems that push them to use cheats.
The goal should be to find a balance that allows both new players to enjoy the game and learn, while also letting skilled players showcase their abilities and creativity. I truly believe that increasing the weapon swap speed, or providing an additional quicker method, could enhance the gameplay experience for everyone, without reverting back to the old, unbalanced system.
Thank you for your attention, and I hope this suggestion will be considered in future updates.
Best regards, slechtic.
