The Sea of Thieves is a shifting, changing place where the tides wait for no pirate – especially when there’s always something new to test your mettle! This is a time of Lost Treasures, when pirates can find more riches and adventures with just a little courage, spirit and a host of new tools and trials. The seas are now even more accessible and rewarding – what will you find out there?
SCALE THOSE TALL TALES
Tall Tales are a great way to explore the astonishing stories of past pirates on the Sea of Thieves, leading into many unique encounters, locations and challenges. However, a helping hand is sometimes needed to seek out and fully embrace these narrative-driven adventures – especially if your map’s covered in brine, banana or grog stains.
Lost Treasures improves the Tall Tales experience for all with new features to make the journey a little smoother. Each Tale now has a descriptive tooltip on your ship’s map, so that you can easily pick which ones to tackle and know what you’re sailing into. Better yet, all Tall Tales now feature checkpoints, so that you can resume a Tale after leaving partway through if you’re a busy buccaneer!
BRAVE SOME DAILY BOUNTIES
Pirates love taking on a challenge, especially when there’s loot up for grabs! Daily Bounties have arrived, offering everyone on the seas a chance to earn more gold for use in the Outpost shops or Doubloons to spend in the Black Market by successfully smashing certain criteria.
Whenever you log in to Sea of Thieves, you’ll see the day’s current Bounty – which could be anything from blowing up some skellies to sharing a shanty with another crew. Rewards vary based on the difficulty of the task, so let these Daily Bounties both inspire and fund some of your adventures this month!
Merrick’s recent bumper haul of Ruby Splashtails went down a treat at his family’s ‘all you dare eat’ gathering, so he’s planning another Hunter’s Haul event in the weeks ahead! If you’ve got the rod-handling skills to hand in 300 of those charming little red fishies everyone loves, you can earn yourself some Ancient Coins.
Which is handy, because you may spot some special related items such as the Ruby Splashtail Fishing Rod and a magnificent Splashtail Ship Set for sale in the Pirate Emporium this month too. Embrace the Splashtail fever!
The newest Trading Company to grace the Sea of Thieves will also be participating in this range of new events, though they seem to have a broad definition of ‘trading’. The Reaper’s Bones are paying handsomely for Reaper’s Chests and Reaper’s Bounties, the two Cursed Chests they value most.
Bring enough of these treasures to the mysterious Servant of the Flame at The Reaper’s Hideout and they may just teach you some fearsome new emotes befitting a loyal and deadly Reaper!
This special event is a joint effort between various Trading Companies, offering you a chance to earn the new Blighted Ship Set – inspired by adventures of a different kind in State of Decay. Ever wanted a ship with an undead motif, adorned by ghoulish, grasping, decaying hands? Well, looks like we did too…
Watch out for this event to claim the Blighted Flag, Sails, Hull and Figurehead for your own ship before they go on sale in the Pirate Emporium at a later date.
