Changing ship type without changing server

    Hi there,
    I've been playing SoT for a while now and one thing that annoys me and my friends is having to leave a server to increase or decrease the crew capacity if someone wishes to join or leave mid-voyage.

    I think it would be good to implement a feature into the game that enables players to change ship type within the server in a similar way you can change your weapon load out on Call of Duty or Battlefield for the next time you respawn. Obviously this should only work once your previous ship has been sunk or scuttled to avoid crews gaining access to multiple ships.

    This would allow crews a little more flexibility when on a long voyage that one person may not want to cancel simply to have other people join or leave.

    A lot of people have asked for this over the last year, hopefully it's something they're thinking about, might be tricky though because of servers having a certain population size, but there should definitely be an easier way than the current system, it's always annoying when that one friend joins late and suddenly you need a bigger ship but you're halfway through an Athena's

    Welcome to the forums and the community! Like @Reedski said it is a very requested quality of life improvement that Rare is very aware of.

    We will probably see the ability to join friends on the same server with your own ship first. Rare has acknowledge they want to do this very requested improvement as well. Just a matter of time as they have a lot going on right now with fixes and updates to Adventure and the Arena on the horizon. Both are big QoL enhancements and will go very well together.

    Thanks for the welcome :-)

    Both or either of those additions would be really handy especially seeing as you can already team up with other ships through the alliance system anyway. Being able to do that with friends on a second ship makes sense.
