Message in a bottle

  • I really enjoy finding messages in a bottle quests because it extends my voyages and makes it a lot more fun but can you guys please make it so that these can be saved for the next time I’m playing because sometimes I get like 3 of them in one session but unfortunately something comes up and I have to stop playing. So can they save into my inventory the same way quests are saved?

  • the whole point if them is that they are temporary. do it or lose it! Same as any other "activated" mission.

If you vote/activate an actual mission THOSE don't carry over from session to session, only ones in your "inventory" that aren't activated.

Bottles (and books) are a live, immediately activated mission. makes sense to me that you can't take them with you

  • @confusedgamer99 if you snooze you lose pal ;)

  • @confusedgamer99 I actually have the opposite problem... I would like to be able to cancel them out o' me wheel (or if this be possible already I need to know how...).

Often I find one an' think 'I can't be bothered with this 5 part riddle on Ole Faithful' but it just hangs in me quest wheel... taunting me...

  • @confusedgamer99
    I agree wholeheartedly.

I just want a way to cancel them if they are bad lol. But I hope you get your way as well!

  • You shouldn't be able to save them but they should definitely last longer. Merchant quests from bottles are near impossible to complete in time unless you drop everything you're doing immediately, get what's needed without any hiccups, and get to the destination without any problems and sell.

I'd really love the possibility that quests carry over as well, particularly the bottles - it's really disheartening when I need to log out and go do real life things when I know my inventory is full to the brim of multiple X marked maps.

  • Does anyone notice that messages in a bottle spawn more the longer you play? My guess is that they want to try and keep the player(s) playing. Or it has just been a coincidence on my end.

  • @ConfusedGamer99 i love your idea, when you find 2-3 bottles and you will stop game in 15/20 min it’s really frustrated :/
I love see an inventory with bottle we find and we can use for do it when we want. (But you see what are the quest bottle when you use it ).
    Love this idea ;)
    (Sorry for bad English)

  • @confusedgamer99 - I'm on the side of the fence that's glad they don't carry over. If they did, next time I log in my quest wheel will be 20+ pages long. If I'm unable to complete my voyages for whatever reason then I just have to accept they're gone.

@AwesomecoreUSA - Often I'll have a bottle/book quest in my inventory for a few hours before I complete it. I don't go out my way for these, so if it's not on route then I'll shelve it. If you play for a long time you'll probably end up at the island for another quest. The other day I ended up with 6 bottle/book maps for the same island before my quest took me their. Ended up being a really profitable island.

Saying that, I'd like the ability to post unwanted maps/voyages on a noticeboard in the tavern for other crews collect.

That would be fun. Or perhaps cast them back to the waves in a new bottle to wash up on a distant shore.

Untrue. They have varying durations. Some are as short as one ingame day and some even last for 3 hours in real time.

  • @awesomecoreusa But they need to add a voting system for it too. Otherwise we just end up with another tool to troll and grief.

I love both of these ideas!

  • @crimsonraziel Ah, aye that be true. I was thinking more when I play solo, that be when I want to dump quests that be too much o' a pain for the lone pirate. Like a 4 captain map wit' metal skeletons on Thieves Haven... cause you know they'll spawn way up top.

But aye, on a crew ye vote to drop just like ye vote on which quest to do. Perhaps thar be a bottle beside the map table an ye can select to put a quest in it, then pirates vote. If the vote be true, the quest spawns on a random beach in a bottle an leaves yer quest wheel.

Not a priority by any means mind ye... Rare, no need for this over new content!!! :)

  • @confusedgamer99 I do agree and what about if you run out of quest space. I have done a legend quest that takes the whole wheel what happens to one of them if a bottle is taking an spot?

  • @confusedgamer99 I wish we had the option to save ONE of them. Any others are lost.

  • @tartansnake-8 That's a nice idea but as a pirat mine come other way and if we could sell them like 100 coins or decide to get 50% of the final value. I mean that at the moment you decide to get away from this quest you could have the choice between selling it for a few coins in case the final is a 47coins chests you're a winner (not that much I agree with that lol) or then choose to take 50% of the final amount where you could be a winner in case this is a chest of sorrow or the one with rhum (sorry don't know the english name of this one).

Of course that's also means that you don't know what the quest is all about when you discover it and once fully open you can't sell it. I'm pretty sure that this could be bring something new to the game if with time the game is bringing some rare bottles or books to discover.

Sorry if not totally clear, I'm french.
