Simple but fun idea for an in-game message board

    I think they already have an in game message board but it’s never been updated since launch, you know the message that says “welcome to sea of thieves” and then it goes on to referring you to the forums for latest news and updates?

    Here’s the simple idea: a brand new NPC set at all the taverns located at the different outposts and when you interact with them they go on and tell you what’s new, what’s up and coming, where to go for this information, where to go for that, maintenance windows etc etc. I think it’s got potential and would fit into the world of SoT perfectly.. and definitely better than the bog standard message boards you see across most other online games today. I think this would be a more fun way to keep up with what’s going on.

    For instance you could walk out of the tavern and upon something new that’s swinging our way, an NPC could automatically interact with you and say “Ahoy! Before you go... brand new developers update video has just landed on YouTube” (obviously with a #bemorepirate feel to it but you get the picture)

    I like the idea although I would prefer it to simply be a board that you can read inside the tavern.

    Maybe it works similar to a map table but on the wall and with patch notes.

    I like the idea. Not "In Your Face" but definitely Noticeable. A wall poster in the taverns sounds about right.

    @captain-arcanic @xCALYPT0x yeah good idea mateys. I personally don’t think there’s a problem with the communication between the devs and the players but having some form of in-game message board for latest news and what not would be putting every type of player into consideration, in a sense that some players might not hit the forums as much as others and some players might not even bother with the forums at all, meaning that some people don’t get that vital information. Then there’s people like myself who sometimes spends more time on the forums than the actual game itself on some days. It just seems like at the moment you can get information about the game from forums, Reddit, Twitter, YouTube etc but not the actual game itself

    @mad-ragga-luke You know I saw this title and thought it'd be a great idea for leaving messages for other crews to read in the tavern, if you could somehow interact and type something.... PG and family friendly style....

    @katttruewalker yeah exactly, just something simple to keep EVERY type of player up to date with the latest. Even if it was just another sheet of paper pinned up next to the pirate code as you exit a tavern
