The Parlay

  • Hello fellow mates,

    I was thinking the next:

    You know when you want to go to a Raid, and there's the constant fear of other crews. Or when you are playing solo/duo and you might want to ally to other crew.

    How about a "Parlay". The Captain of a crew can suggest to the other captain to ally:

    • The Parlay starts
    • Of course than the crews can betray and start opening fire while the Parlay is on. But, for the sake of Pirates code it would be inapropiate.
    • The Captains can fix: time of the allience, money to share, order of picking items, etc.
    • When the Parlay is complete, the crews are allies and there is no PvP between then.
    • When the raid is finished the crews start taking the treasure, each crew can only carry as much gold in items as discussed.
    • When the crews have taken all the treasure and are in their ships, the parly stats a countdown.
    • When it arrives at 0 the crews are enemies again.

    This is rough thought, but it may be developed into something nice.

  • Sounds cool, but I think parley could be just about getting a cease fire situation to occur between two crews and having some sort of twist to it while teaming into convoys is actually left as separate feature.

    I had in mind that successful parleying could, for example, give both participatory crews a random voyage and a temporary immunity until they both withdraw into separate bubbles.

    Your suggestion implies of a raid dedicated parley function, which is cool, but I think parleying could have a different purpose. Like a wildcard of some sort that bends some rules of play somehow; depending from situation.

    The more rewarding one is the better, I wager; no matter how hard it is to be implemented. When we all get brainstorming, there's nothing we can't do in the end. ^^
