Firstly, I'm hoping this is the correct area to report these issues. I have also submitted this problem directly to Rare Support, as well as Microsoft via "Report a Problem" on my Xbox.
Secondly, the issue, it appears that all shared media content from Sea of Thieves is bugged!
Details about my personal setup if that helps...: Playing on Xbox One X, in Alpha Ring of the Preview Program, wired ethernet connection, 4K HDR TV.
Details of the problem...: Any media I capture, such as game clips and screen shots, do not appear outside of Xbox Live on an Xbox. To clarify, what I mean by this, the clips and screenshots say they reside on Xbox Live (not on my local Xbox).... Clips and screenshots that reside on Xbox Live are viewable outside of an Xbox via account.xbox.com or third party websites like XboxDVR.com, streamable.com/explore/xbox, or xboxclips.com....
However, any clips or screenshots taken in Sea of Thieves specifically do not work outside of an Xbox. I've taken many clips and screenshots since the launch of the game, and not a single one has shown up on any of the mentioned external places.... The strange thing is that they do still show up in the activity feed directly on an Xbox, and can be sent through XBL message and viewed on an Xbox directly... This issue does not just occur for only me either, as I've spoken with many friends in my gaming community, who all experience the same thing.
My friends and I have tried workarounds with no real luck either. For example, a friend sent a SoT recorded clip via XBL message, and I verified that it could be viewed on my Xbox directly. But then when I view the same message via account.xbox.com, I can see the message and video clip in it, however, when I click "play", the video in the message just hangs and doesn't actually play (the video player just stays black)...
Also, when I try and share a clip to Twitter, I experience issues there as well... That being said, it's the only place where I've semi-successfully been able to view clips outside of my Xbox directly.... The clip will take a very long time to upload, seemingly it hangs, and then finally finishes. And the clip on Twitter surprisingly plays (sometimes). I've experienced the clip on Twitter just hanging, not playing, or when it does play, the quality is extremely bad and pixelated.... Here is a test clip I just shared for this report: https://twitter.com/shojikoto/status/977621158039203840
And finally, SoT is not capable of being streamed to my PC. Specifically, when I am on my Xbox, I'll open my Xbox app on my PC, under the "Connection" tab I'll choose "Stream" to have everything displayed on my PC screen. This works for all other games, all other apps, all other media, and even when I want to stream cable TV... But it instantly crashes anytime I switch to SoT.... When I try to stream SoT, I see the streamed content for a split second, then my Xbox app hangs and shows "Network Quality Problems" in the bottom-left, then crashes. I then get an error message saying "We lost the connection to your console. Run the streaming test to get suggestions about how to make streaming better.".... The thing about this though, is that it's not a network quality issue. I run the test, everything checks out fine, and like I specified before, streaming works wonderfully with EVERYTHING except SoT. I've reset my network and still experience the same problems... I've attached screenshots with the issues I get via Streaming to my PC.
Here are links to my profile on account.xbox.com as well as the 3rd party sites so you can see that clips and screenshots for SoT are nowhere to be found: https://account.xbox.com/en-us/Profile?GamerTag=Shojikoto&activetab=main:mainTab4 --- https://streamable.com/search/xbox?query=Shojikoto --- http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/Shojikoto/videos --- https://xboxclips.com/Shojikoto ---
Has anybody found a proper fix/solution to these issues?
