Okay I was thinking the spyglass should do a little more. I think if you take the spyglass up into the crows nest and use it to look at ships it tells you if a ship has cargo on it or not. It wouldn't say if it's treasure or not just if there is something on board that is able to be stolen it could be a range thing were you have to be somewhat close to have the spyglass tell you or not if the ship has something on it. Before you blast me there is already the ability to shoot ourselves out of cannons and a SNIPER!!! as you can tell still not a fan of that idea. The reason why is cause the sniper has a scope which simply does the same job as a spyglass. The reason why because my crew and I found ourselves sailing around chasing people for hours until we eventually caught up and destroy them just to find out they were running for no reason cause they had nothing.
The spyglass
@ods7-117 I understand your idea, but it doesn't make sense regarding roleplay, which is a huge part of this game at the moment.
Perhaps the issue is with the sniper?
I would agree to have something more interesting when you are in the crow nest with the spyglass though, but isn't it the case already? Can't you see farther when you are there?
Staf'
@stafylocok I don't see the difference between using the spyglass in the crows nest vs using it on the deck if there is a view difference it must be very small. The sniper is something completely different I could deal with it if it didn't have the scope, but the reason I hate it is cause many times my battles would be a sniper battle it did ruin the close range combat, because it allowed people to stay at a distance and just snipe we would have to ram just to have some close range combat. If they maybe lower the rounds it holds to 3 or if they increase the reload time it might slow down the sniper spam.
