sword lunge gross now?

  • you know what felt good? sword lunging a group of skeletons in pve and going right through them all taking out 4-5 at once. you know what feels awful? the first skeleton your lunge hits acting like a brick wall and halting the lunge. i know this is a change that had been tossed back and forth for a while. you guys did the weapon draw delay years ago making combat feel awful then after years and years of neglect (like this whole game really) you finally changed it to make combat feel smoother. and while its still not as fast and snappy as year 1 it is better. but now here we go making it worse again. i dont recall this nerf being in last seasons update or i just didnt notice? but pretty sure it wasnt. i imagine the lunge pass through is annoying in pvp. and that is what the nerf was for as mixed pvp/pve games always suffer for the pvp side of things. but couldnt you come up with a rule? like cant pass through players but can pass through pve stuff? because once again making the pve side feel worse. as much as the pvp crowd loves to think adding pve servers would ruin this game. the reality is ruining pve will ruin this game. if all pve was removed from this game and it became purely pvp it would die in months like arena did. the pve needs to be enjoyable for people to want to do these long grinds and by making pve combat a pain point you are just pushing people away. just like deleting currency, forcing people to regrind parts of the game they swore to never do again because the original grind was so long and tedious etc. you sucked me into playing 1 more season because that kraken ship set is too darn cool to pass up on. but still heavily leaning toward this being the final season. the game conviently forgets my clothing setting about once a season as well so thats fun since we still dont have cosmetic saving for our characters. im sure its something to do with curses and the old loading in undressed or as a ghost or green skeleton bug.

  • I saw your post and had to go check, as I hadn't played the update yet. I dived to a skeleton bounty, got a bunch of skellies lined up and....

    It still works.

    Not sure what you're experiencing here.

    I can't see them changing that behaviour, as the only really broke about the lunge is being able cancel it with interactions. I only did the lowest level voyage, so it is possible skeleton health scales... which is what it used to do.

    I logged on, dove to kill a skeleton lord just to test this out. So far, I haven't been able to reproduce what you described.

    Reading your wall of text, it sounds like you're burned out. You made a post recently complaining about them adding achievements to the season. You made a generalized comment here about the whole game having years of neglect. You say they 'force' you to do things....and I'm sorry, but you're the only one forcing yourself to do anything here

    Bugs that other players encounter and I can never recreate it.

  • so doing some more island content its not happening? noticing it was happening more so on garrisons as i never finished servants oath last season because i dont do any content near smuggler routes as the skeleton ship harassment is insane. so i dunno if the lunging there is just what was messing up more cause of pathing issues on the floor? or if the keymasters being tougher are blocking the lunge pass through? but i swear it was happening on the outside when doing the capstans as well... i dunno. i just know it was a proposed change and it felt like it had made it live. but perhaps just glitchy terrain or lag? or just hit reg issues maybe but your character sounds winded when you miss a lunge and cant act for a short period. and non of that was heppning. oh well. i got my garrisons done. spend the doubloons on everything i wanted. now just contemplating if i really want to stick around after finishing the season pass knowing they are going to do a gold reset and add a gold cap at some point this year or next. tired of being penalized for playing their game too much. the bouncing between different design ideas is creating some serious mental fatigue and stress. games are supposed to be fun. no getting spanked every time for "you did too many hours of that" or "you didnt spend your currency how dare you!"
