Guild War Servers

  • I think something that would be really cool is if there was a separate game mode, apart from safer seas and high seas, where it has 4 guild bases at each cardinal direction that your and other guilds inhabit! It’d be the same as high seas, but you can get rewards for doing voyages in other guilds territory, and maybe there could be a guild flag! Like an Emissary you raise that stays in your base! The more treasure you accrue the higher value the flag; when the present guild votes to turn it in, the highest contributor gets 25%, the second highest gets 20%, 3rd gets 10%, and all guild mates get a baseline of 5% just for being there! It can level up for bonus’ to turned in loot, just like a standard emissary, only it can only be lowered by unanimous decision. That way it’s possible for it to be stolen in an enemy raid without someone just camping next to the table and waiting for the go ahead to lower it. To unlock the mode would require maintaining at least 10 guild members at a time, which would put much more incentive on joining a guild as right now it’s an afterthought. The base would be customizable, as anything in the game is, and repairing it after getting damaged as well as resupplying it would be expensive. This is to make having a large amount of money important again. I think this mode would add maintenance, competition, and community back into the game, and would add a new endgame grind to the game to keep longtime vets engaged. Please consider this, because I’ve put a lot of thought into it!

  • Personally, I think 3 crews Vs 3 crew Faction Fleet battles would be cool: last team standing wins, sea forts can be taken over “return of the damned style” and these footholds create supplies over time.

Capture the flag would also work if the game was locked to one of the 3 main regions, as each one has 2 sea forts serving as bases for CTF.

  • @geeteedubs
Or guilds in general can actually sail in the same server w/out tryna server hop

How are 10 guildmates supposed to "be there"? If this is an event or a game mode, you should know there's only 16 players max on a server. 10 players in the 4 directions equals to 40 players total, and I'm experiencing lag spikes and micro-stutters when I'm simply solo-slooping. I seriously think the server would catch on fire if you try having 40 players on a single server lol. If you mean cumulative (players are on their own servers), how would I know that East is already owned by another guild? If it's late at night, is the East guild still there protecting their corner?

    • "And maybe there could be a guild flag," (since this is an event or mode for guilds, why wouldn't there be?).

    • "The more treasure you accrue, the higher value the flag.... the highest contributor gets 25%," Gold? Guild rep? Doubloons? I log on Higher Seas, raise my guild flag, do voyages in an area I want, and earn 100% of gold, guild rep, etc. I'm kinda lost as to what benefit this would give players here.

    • "The base would be customizable..(is this just for this temporary game mode (which wouldn't be worth it), or is this a permanent addition, because if so, please understand that simply looking at Port Merrick makes your FPS scream on top of the lag spikes and micro-stuttering players experience. I seriously don't think customization (aside from your ships) is ever going to be a thing here.

-"Repairing it after getting damaged as well as resupplying it would be expensive. This is to make having a large amount of money important again." So, we have a guild event/mode, that's I'm assuming pvp, but we do voyages, in order to earn 25% of something, and it's expensive to resupply/repair? That's even IF the merchant gives you the expensive resupply crates, as that bug has been in the game for years now (they said it was being addressed in a podcast in 2024). How would this add "community" when only those with large amounts of gold can do this? How is this "competition," when it's about completing voyages (in areas of the world some guilds might not be at or taken), something that many of us already do and get better rewards for on the high seas? How is this an "endgame grind", when it restricts who can afford it, only gives 25%, and you still haven't listed a point for guilds yet.

  • @shadowfox327533

So an alliance server? That sounds really cool. This way, we could stack for hours without having any threat from anyone else, right? I'm completely sure the game devs would have zero problem letting everyone do this. Pretty sure.

  • That’s the point of Custom Seas.

  • Basically arena with guilds.
And if you’re not part of a big guild. You’re gonna have a bad time.
