Abysmal Eternal Guard Spawns

  • Spawn rates beed a huge buff on these. I have spent a 2 hour, 3 hour and 4 hour session with zero spawns. I have searched in the roar and the mainland. Havent found a single spawn on the mainland. Was interested if others had the sane problem or if Rare has me on a most hated list.

  • First time I went looking for them, I had trouble getting one. The next time I did it, I found one on the first big island I sailed to and then sailed past another one on the next island I passed while traveling to the vault with the key from the first one. 🤷‍♂️

I guess it depends on how the spawn system works for these and if there is a limit to the amount that can be spawned at once. I assume that the Roar is supposed to have a higher chance of getting them, but it might be possible that if you are in the Roar looking around for them and not finding any that they have all managed to spawn for other players elsewhere on the server.

  • I've completed all Secrets of the Banished commendations and Act 1 deeds. The best luck I had with finding the Eternal Guards was on Ashen Reaches and Kraken's Fall (I did a loop from Ashen Reaches to The Devil's Thirst, Ruby's Fall, Flintlock Peninsula, Fetcher's Rest, Kraken's Fall, and Devil's Ridge).

Of the 11 I ended up doing for all the comms, I had 4 on Kraken's Fall and another 4 on Ashen Reaches. The remaining 3 were 1 on Ruby's Fall, 1 on Flintlock Peninsula, and 1 on Fetcher's Rest. I didn't find any on Devil's Ridge or The Devil's Thirst, but I did find Ashen Guardians for the Ashen Keys on both. (The east side of Kraken's Fall is also a great spawn point for Ashen Guardians.)

I'd say the average time between finding Eternal Guards on that loop was about 90 mins. Just remember that you can see them easily without having to go on land, so you don't have to waste time searching by foot. It might also be worth switching servers if you're struggling to find them.

  • They are definitely out there.

Cannoning over large islands in both the Roar and the rest of the Map is your best way to locate as they are not always on the beaches - some can be on high ground.

I like that they are not super obvious. I seem to find them when I am mid Gild Voyage when I don't want to be doing them!

I have a feeling from my ingame experience this is how it works. So if you find all the ones in the roar and you go back and there's none else there, then they're all in other regions of the map.

This could probably be mitigated if there was a maximum/minimum amount per region so it's guaranteed to find at least one or two per region, or just keeping them tied to the roar.

  • @venomous-sloth7 just bad luck I think. When I'm looking for them, I usually find one after checking two or three islands. I also come across them by accident sometimes. Any piece of content that relies on chance (eternal guard, specific world events etc.) there will statistically be a small number of players that draw the short straw and never seem to come across them (you seem to be one of those players in this instance), just like there will be those who run into two or three in the space of 15 minutes.
