Regarding the injustice committed by RARE against me and other players.

  • I am writing this message as someone who has played Sea of Thieves for approximately 2,000 hours and has passionately played this game for six years. This morning I woke up to find my account suspended for seven days due to toxicity. In six years I had never received a sanction, yet this year I have been penalized twice for toxicity. In the first case no evidence was presented against me; I accepted the decision because I did not want conflict with the game administrators and I made a conscious effort not to repeat the behavior. This morning I was certain I had not acted badly in any way, yet I was punished again.

All I do in the game is fight other pirates, sink their ships and take their treasures — I did not insult or harass anyone. If someone reported me, it was most likely because I sank their ship; being banned simply for fighting is unacceptable and unfair. Yesterday, the Sea of Thieves YouTube channel published a video saying bans would be lifted, yet today my account was permanently banned. Rather than fixing cheats and other bugs, punishing innocent players is unjust and will only increase the number of unfair bans and damage the quality of the game. Players whose bans are lifted may return to
cheating and make the game worse. Those who banned me today may ban other devoted players tomorrow.

Although I know my ban may not be lifted, I ask the forum and the community for support so I can return to the game I love. I request that my account be reviewed fairly and that this injustice be ended.

Those ban lifts are not taken place now, but probably in October or so.

According to your screenshot, you're not permanently banned, but for 7 days.

    Ah, yes I see.

    Well

I request that my account be reviewed fairly and that this injustice be ended.

The forum is not the place for this (topic will probably be locked); submit a ticket instead: https://support.seaofthieves.com/requests/new

  • Thank you for your valuable comment and suggestion.

Of course, before raising this issue I contacted support, but they told me the ban would not be lifted and provided no evidence whatsoever.

They also claimed that I had cheated, but the ban explanation read: “Toxic Behavior — Extreme — 7-Day Suspension.”

They banned my account without presenting any evidence and for ridiculous reasons in this game I fought like everyone else and sank ships, and I was banned. Support is not helping, and I am asking you, the valued members of the forum, for assistance.

  • I requested that my account be reviewed again and fairly evaluated, but my support ticket was closed and my ban was not lifted. The injustice that RARE has inflicted on its players is clear.

At first, they banned me for “toxicity,” and then they claimed I was cheating. However, my previous support tickets, in which I reported and got cheaters banned, are still on record. I was someone who tried to improve this game and enjoyed playing it. But from this point on, I have uninstalled the game from my computer and leave them to the justice of the world.

  • I have carefully read what you wrote and I agree with you. Fighting, sinking ships, and taking treasure are the core dynamics of Sea of Thieves. Being punished for doing these things really doesn’t make sense.

I am also a player with around 800 hours of playtime, and I have seen similar unfair reports happen. Because of the competitive nature of the game, some players tend to report when they lose. Counting this as a reason for punishment is not fair.

For a player like you, who has dedicated 2,000 hours and 6 years to this game, being banned so easily can damage the community’s trust. Of course, cheating and toxicity should be prevented, but punishing innocent players breaks the passion for the game.

I am confident that the Sea of Thieves support team will review this mistaken ban and lift it.

    Discussing Disciplinary Actions

Discussion of disciplinary actions taken against individual players is not permitted on the Forums. Topics and posts with this content will be locked, deleted and the users involved warned. Ignoring the warning will result in a temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

If the person involved wants more information or to appeal then they would need to contact Support as it is not something that can be discussed on the Forums.

As mentioned above, the 'Second Chance' portion in the video you are referring to does not come into effect until October.
