Loots sinking way faster than normal

  • Seems like after the start of season 17, any loot that's in the water, whether from a sunk skeleton ship or a player ship, seems to start sinking way earlier than it used to.

This prevents you from recovering your lost loot even if you spawn very close to where you sink.

  • How fast do you mean?
I’ve sink two ships, gally and sloop (different times but close together) and had enough time to retrieve both

Like. How long after a ship sinks do you wait to retrieve? Is it popping up and immediately sinking? Sure it isn’t the waves bouncing them up and down.

  • I was recently moving the smugglers loot, and got attacked by a skeleton ship. I forgot I had a keg rowboat on the back, and it blew my ship up with a cannon, and sunk both me and itself. I was going from Smugglers to Crescent, and it spawned me at Sailor's Bounty, basically right next to where I sank. I was able to locate the sink spot, but the only thing left was the skeleton ship loot and my supply barrels. The loot I was carrying had sunk in less that 3 minutes. That seems awfully quick.

I had the same situation, keg rowie and a firebomb on the galleon right next to me 😎, close to Sanctuary Outpost. I got spawned at Smuggler's Bay and the loot from the skeleten ship and my sloop and my supplies were still floating when I got there but starting to sink when I was retrieving my supplies.

last time I checked (When I had a regular rowie in my ship, thank god) it only takes around 2 minutes before the loot starts to sink.

if you sink those two ships in quick succession, then you got them fast enough (or might not know if some of them had sunk)

from my experience at least, if you get distracted once by another ship that attacks you even when you beat them quickly, it is still slow enough for the loot that is still in the water to start sinking.
