I know you’re probably tired of people asking for an ice region, but here is my idea, just hear me out.
The bottom left corner of the map is completely empty, the perfect place for a new region.
There would be room for a new tall tale, and this could be the perfect spot for one, I have an idea for that too.
Ice region
The water would be completely sludge, and your ship would be slowed. Instead of rocks popping up in the region, small ice chunks will deal minor damage to your ship. There are small islands scattered around the region, however much of the region is made up of big chunks of ice, including the center island with has a massive mountain made of ice, like the Siren Citadel, but ice. Jumping into the water, makes you drown quicker. If you stand still for too long, you will be slowed, and eventually freeze to death, if you are not holding a lantern, or standing next to one. I also thought it could be interesting if in case you aren’t wearing shoes, pants, and gloves, you would get a very small amount of damage, and you will freeze way faster than normal.
Tale tale
You talk to some order of soul's guy, (Key word being guy). His name is probably Grant. He tells you of the mysterious ice region and twin ancient evils that rest there. The ancient evils are Eioozak, the Furious spirit, and Ojnab, the great bear. Grant tells you about his mother, Hexe, lovingly called Gruntilda. Hexe traveled to the ice region thirty years ago on a ship called the Gutlifter, however, she went missing and was assumed dead. Grant is not convinced Hexe is dead, and asks you to find her. A quick portal hop to the ice region, and you’re there.
By now I should hope you notice the theme of this tall tale. I mean, Gruntilda? Come on.
You find the wreck of Hexe’s ship, the Gutlifter, and letters talking about her hatred for Ojnab, and Eioozak. She rages about hunting them down and destroying the spirits. The last letter was in shaky handwriting and told of caterwauls coming from the mountain, angry, and vengeful. She also described seeing a silhouette of a bear, bigger than her ship, walking along the icy coast. The last part of the letter tells you that she went farther east, trying to find the lair of the bear and that she left clues to follow. You follow the clues and find a cave in a snowdrift. Entering into the cave, you find a sleeping bear, fluffier than your cat. Approaching the bear, wakes it causing a boss battle, if you die, you respawn at the entrance of the cave. You defeat the bear, and exit out of the cave, to find the Pirate lord, and Grant standing there, congratulating you. However suddenly, and cutscene plays of a giant fiery bird bursting out of the mountain, which is only a mile from the cave. The bird dives toward you, but catches Grant in its giant talons, carrying him back towards the mountain. You follow the bird and find him and an old lady stuck on a high ledge. The bird, Eioozak, can talk, spots you, and tells you that Grant and the old woman, who is Hexe, are a plague to the sea of thieves, and will destroy everything you have worked towards. Suddenly Hexe and Grant interrupt and using their magic, attack the bird, and you. The bird is incapacitated for the Boss battle. You fight them both, dodging the magical blasts, and shooting at them intermittently. After you defeat them, the great bear, Ojnab, appears behind you with the pirate lord. The bird wakes up, and gifts you multiple items, 1. The Fiery Bird sails. 2. The Great Bear hull. And 3. The Gruntilda rapier (It is a broomstick).
