@cainbong Oh, i don't have the issues much anymore. Just calling out that One Hit Blunder wasn't the only way to defend a sloop, and in more was was more detrimental.
I am honestly pretty disappointed by this latest patch...
@reverend-toast It's better than letting the Blunder at 100 dmg that's for sure.
I just don't get why they didn't just nerf the damage.Maybe they were scared that the weapon would drop into oblivion with "only 90 dmg".
I don't think it would have. Now it's also very good, in an another way. I'll need more testing (with and against) to have a definitive opinion on it.
@arias1101 I feel every weapon should have an identity and purpose, so if the Blunder was gonna remain as the anti-board weapon, having substantial knockback can assist with that.
Though i do wish that the Blunder had a little bit of knockback for the wielder as well. not much, maybe just a pace or two... but have it be amplified if you are in the air... so the Blunder wouldn't be able to be fired from the ships ladder without it knocking you back from it... but it could then also be used as a traversal tool to adjust your trajectory, give a little added distance to a jump, and if timed right slow momentum from a fall. Would just be incredible watching pirates do a "Blunder Jump" to board a ship.
@reverend-toast The issue occurs when the boarder uses it to bump you out of your ship. Once you are boarded, there is equal chances that it occurs.
It would be an "anti board" tool if it were consistantly bumping people of the ladder, wich, as far as I can tell, is not yet the case.@arias1101 Right, but in that case it would have been just as likely that you would have been 1 blundered in that situation, so for the most part the results would have been the same.
The bigger issue i have been seeing is when the ladder juking is happening, launching people peeking over the ladder off their ship... which is why i am saying it would be beneficial to have a bit of knock back for the shooter cuz they wouldn't be able to grab back onto the ladder since they would have been repelled backwards.
@arias1101 people DID camp reaper chests out at sea when they were first added. because it was the new addition and the thing to farm and the only way to obtain it. the issue is now its rare anyone goes for them so its a waste of the campers time to even think about those chests. especially when they were added to the fotd and skeleton captains can give you them. also the fact that unless you are grinding reapers you might go sell everything at sovereigns and wanna log off and the low value of the treasure cant be worth the effort to go hand in. even the reaper bounties which are worth a decent amount of gold dont really feel valuable theres too much high value loot now. they need a bump in payout to bring back their unique feel.
the burning blade however has the chest of fortune which is only obtainable via world events and (rarely) pop up plunder. the chest of fortune for 2 years now has been what the chest of legends was for the first year of the game. though with more frequency due to it being on fixed events anyone can do vs being locked out behind pirate legend status.
its also like why camp and harass people trying to complete a purely pve story driven event like saving merrick? for the same reason people cheat at hourglass...... the hourglass cheaters are all on alt accounts they dont care about getting banned or even the levels. they are there because they find ruining everyone elses attempts at progression fun.. as much as i hate to say it... cant be more pirate than that. they take the role too seriously i guess. but thats the defense everyone makes against pve and proper pve servers so thats the argument i will make for those trying to play normal and getting sunk by cheaters..... its a pirate game.
but yea reaper chests need a rework to make them feel work it again. also make it so they can be sold to the caged skeleton at the emissary tables as well since even despite not having the reaper chest hand ins complete i have throw away like 15 at this point because i cant be bothered to sail to reapers to hand in.
they also need to move the servant at reapers back to where he was during the fort capture the flag event. he was right at the shore so you could pull up and drop all your loot off the bowsprit and hand in was even more convienient than sovereigns. but until reapers gets an upgrade to being able to hand in faster im certainly not concerned with farming that faction more than i have already
