Greater Field of View FOV Adjustment for Motion Sickness

  • Hello,

I suffer from motion sickness from playing more than ~1 hour of First Person videogames that don't have a sufficient FOV slider implemented. This could be my monitor or maybe it's just me. Regardless, I have this issue. I'm returning to the game after some time and still feel the same. Most of my friends have zero issues with the current implementation up to 90 degress and one of my friends has the same motion sickenss as me (but this individual can play for longer periods than me). On most videogames I am fine with 90 degrees and at most 100 degrees but for some reason I find that Sea of Thieves is just not working for me, mentally. But this might be the way that it's implemented and no fault of the game. I've seen the discussions about it being an unfair advantage... but I don't understand this as plenty of other crossplay games such as Halo Infinte from Xbox let you go much higher than most people even want (I find that it goes too high, but more option is better for us!)...

Is anyone able to give a better reason why this feature couldn't be implemented better and with more flexibility?

If it's relevant, both myself and my friend that experiences the same feeling play at a resolution of 1080p.

  • The ability to modify FoV beyond the in-game limits was never intentional and has been removed in order to restore the intended settings of Sea of Thieves.

The game is designed for 90 FoV Maximum, anything beyond that looks distorted and broken.

There are no intentions to change this in future.
